Minetest's player:set_bone_position
is overridden so that it still works as expected.
character_anim.set_bone_override(player, bonename, position, rotation)
The signature resembles that of set_bone_position

This goes onto every single world I play on. The normal character looks so boring and lifeless without it. I highly recommend to give this a go. From all the animation mods I've tested, this seems to be the one with the most features.
Finally character's movements are more realistic
Now character looks more human.

The animations that this mod offers are a small but nice improvement over the default ones and also run more or less smoothly.

This glitch happened
My character was distorted while I was walking like his hands were over his head, legs in the waist.
Character rotations are incorrect for some reason.
Character rotations seem to be incorrect when i punch or punch while walking.
