Crosshair adapts depending on what the player is wielding and looking at.


Features: 🔗

  • show if looked thing is interactable.
  • show if wielded thing can be consumed or used.
  • show if wielded thing can be placed.
  • show if wielded thing is the correct tool to use depending on what is being looked at.
    • green: correct tool being used.
    • red: wrong tool being used.
    • white: neutral, can be used but may not be the best thing to use.

    A Brilliant Idea and Well Made

    Adaptive Crosshair adds an adaptive crosshair to the game, changing its size based on the player's choice of tool and the block they're looking at. I had the same idea myself, but I have to admit, I was beaten to the punch! Huge props for how it's been implemented: the feature is smooth, useful, and really enhances the gameplay experience.

    Visually, it blends well with the game's style and never feels intrusive. The changing size and shape of the crosshair based on context adds a dynamic touch. I would have liked a bit more customization, like the ability to choose the crosshair color, but that's a minor thing.

    All in all, the idea is spot on, and the execution is excellent. Props for getting it done before me!

  • only show wrong tool "color" when holding a tool
    • prior; would show wrong tool "color" when holding a node/block/item
    • (yes this was not a bug, it was intentional.. I am a better person now)
  • should now take into account the item/tool/node's range
    • note; some mods do funky stuff with attack distance calculations.. meaning that the attack indicator wont always be correct

  • when looking down "attackable" crosshair would show.
