Description
Better Command Blocks
Adds command blocks similar to those of a certain other voxel game (hereafter referred to as ACOVG). It is the only command block mod to support my Better Commands mod. It includes impulse, repeating, and chain command blocks, and should be game-agnostic (although you kind of need Mesecons/redstone for impulse command blocks to be useful).
To use the command blocks, you must have the better_command_blocks privilege.
Normal commands (not Better Commands) can only be run if the placer is online, and are executed as the placer. Better Commands are executed as the command block itself (same position and rotation).
License:
- Code: Licensed under MIT
- Textures: Created by me, inspired by ACOVG's textures (and various ACOVG texture packs that I considered using instead), and licensed under CC-BY-SA-4.0
Known issues:
-
While slashes are usually optional, they are REQUIRED if the command has multiple slashes (such as //replace from WorldEdit).
-
Internally, command blocks technically face backwards because I accidentally made it that way. This will not be fixed, because it really has no effect besides potentially slightly confusing people who look at the code.

v2.0
v2.0 (January 2, 2026)
- Features
- Command blocks can be copied with aux1+right-click
- Added "Hover Note" and "Execute on first tick" options, like the non-coffee flavor of ACOVG
- Changes
- Command blocks are placed facing the placer (as in ACOVG), and are no longer impossible to place vertically
- Command blocks can now hold multiple commands, which are all run sequentially when the command block's conditions are met. So I guess chain command blocks are kind of obsolete now, but whatever.
- Command block chains can once again turn corners like in ACOVG (somehow I got this wrong in v1.1)
- Improved formspec
- Bugfixes:
- Fixed a potential issue where the player's wielded item could get deleted when interacting with command blocks
- Fixed a bug where command blocks couldn't run commands without parameters
- Normal commands (not Better Commands) can now only be run when the command block's placer is online. Some commands (VL
clearmobs for example) expect to have a valid player object and will crash otherwise.
- Command blocks should no longer run after being dug during the delay
- Probably added bugs since I basically rewrote half the mod. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a bugfix release in the next few days.

v1.3 (skipped 1.2, whoops)
v1.3
Just fixes a few bugs. Better Commands v3.0 is out now, and it... isn't a broken mess like before.
