Very useful, and also atmospheric must-have
Very simple, does what it said, and works very good. Very useful when you wanna e.g. explore a cave or when night happens. It even emits light from dropped items when using the item_physics mod (which also could be called an essential btw)
The only caveat is that it creates 'air' when you're in water but you can't breathe in it and it's annoying. Luckily though I reported it in a thread under here and it should get fixed.
This is the first mod I enable in every game.
This is the single most important mod to have. Being able to see without having to clutter the landscape with torches is essential to fun gameplay. A million thanks for making my favorite most useful mod.
Very useful and accurate
This mod is really useful and accurates with reality: Why emitting light things shouldn't emit light when wielded? Very useful on survival games (like Mineclone2)
Almost like Optifine!
This is probably the best mod of it's kind! Unfortunately, items such as torches, don't emit light when there are more than 4 mods enabled (not counting the default Minetest mods and Wielded light). I would appreciate if this was fixed. Edit: Builtin Item can be used with this mod. You just need to add Builtin item as a optional dependency.
Better gameplay for cave explorers!
I tried this mod out and did not expect much from such relatively simple changes to lighting mechanics.
Then, while playing Minetest, I was amazed how much nicer cave exploration felt with a wielded torch.
Does what it promises
torch bright, me happy
A must have.
This mod is extremely useful. It's great for mining, and overall walking at night. Often I find myself struggling to see the MT world during night, and this really helps.
My Overall rating: 8/10
Essential Mod For night exploration
It is so nice to be able to just hold a torch while exploring or drop them down caves
Absouletly Neccassary for every Game!
Needed in every world.
Awesome!
This makes things more realistic and fun especially on survival mode, which helps you see better in the dark.
An Essential Mod
This mod is essential for Minetest gameplay, as the nights are quite dark. Simply craft a torch and you'll be able to get around at night and see where you are going.
Great mod
This is the best wielded light mod I've found from all the ones I've tried.
Want 3d_armor Support
If this mod gains 3d_armor support, I will probably abandon wlight as it is much more optimized, suppors node
light_source
attribute, & dropped items emit light.I put in a PR for 3d_armor support. <-- deprecated now
Edit: I like that I can now create my own custom callbacks.
Edit: 3d_armor support via library: 3d_armor_light
By The Light!
Good mod. The only light mod I liked that didn't crash the game. It's practical and everyone on the server benefits.
The best light overhaul
Not only is this mod able to treat dropped items as light sources (unlike all the other mods I tested) but it also offers an easy way of registering additional inventories, resulting in much better compatibility with other mods.
I strongly recommend this mod over others like it. While you're at it, you might also want to grab the 3d_armor_light extension as well.
I totally agree with everyone else
Whatever they said was right. It is really an amazing mod. It can be used in houses. In wtf caves. Super caverns, etc.
