Description
Hello adventurer! Welcome to Mogue, a Brogue-like realtime dungeon crawler built in Luanti. You're on a quest to retrieve the Crystal of Yendor, rumored to be somewhere in depth 13 of the dungeons. Bring it back up to the surface, place it on the pedestal and your name will forever be remembered. Along the way, try to collect as much gold as possible to show off to future explorers of the dungeon. But beware! The dungeon and its inhabitants do not take kindly to intruders. There will be traps you must avoid and monsters to sneak around, to fight, or to run away from. If you die on your quest, you will lose any items you find, your stats will reset, and you'll need to start again at the top. The dungeon itself will change its shape, and you will need to explore it anew. But do not despair, as you explore the dungeon, there will be many chests containing items to help you on your way to retrieve the fabled crystal.

Custom object effect system that applies to players and mobs:
- Removed PEP, player effects, mg_burning and mg_poison mods

Enhancements
- Created Mogue Mod for player and mob effects, removed playereffects, pep and mg_poison mods
- Added settings tab to enter seeds and respawn
- Pause mobs on other levels
- Leave chests open if nothing in them to mark them as explored
- Player drops items automatically when in deep water
- sneaking improves stealth
- Flood trap restores floor
- Armor and rings can be cursed and you need a scroll of remove curse to get them off
- can wear two rings at the same time
- Caustic gas takes a percentage of health instead of just 1 hp
- Moved crystal to level 13 and rebalanced game around that
- Readjusted floors tougher mobs appear on (half of standard brogue)
- Add 3 more base items to floors and double frequency for life, strength and enchants to level up faster to make up for seeing tough mobs sooner
- Ran through jit profiler and made some improvements (generating fov map)
- Gems appear below level 13 as items to collect
- Fixed race condition when loading existing game would clear mods and regenerate level 1 & 2
- Fixed issues with multiplayer regen and hunger
- Fixed mobs stepping on traps

Tense, Fast, Easy to start, Difficult to master
Great job! As a roguelike fan, I loved how fast this game drops you into the action. The upgrade items are super cool, and the tight spaces honestly gave me anxiety — I kept thinking enemies were going to jump me at any second (in a fun way!).
It’s brutal — I died fast — but that just made each run more fun.
Feels like a roguelike
I have casually played some Nethack, DCSS and Brogue. Mogue does feel like a roguelike. They succeeded in transposing the turn-based, 2D world of original roguelikes into the realtime, 3D world of Luanti. From Brogue specifically, it retained the "coffee-break rogulike" aspect, one can do a quick, casual run just like one would with Extra Ordinance in a different genre.
The text in the description really should be in-game (maybe shorten it and put in a "help" tab?) to make it more accessible for players not familiar to the genre and its terminology.
