This mod didn’t just make my life easier, it basically rescued me. Before this mod, I was mining like a sleep-deprived raccoon trapped in the local Home Depot. I’m a survival player, which basically means I’m:
Nowadays with this mod, whenever I run out of light sources I just grab whatever glows and wander through the mine like a child holding a radioactive night-light. I’m not “resourceful,” I’m just too stubborn to die. Without this mod, I’d probably still be down there swinging a pickaxe at the wall like, “Maybe this time the diamonds will magically appear,” while a mob breathes on me disrespectfully.
The only thing I’d complain about? It refuses to illuminate underwater.. like okay queen, glow everywhere except the one place I’m drowning. Slay, I guess.
This mod didn’t improve my experience it prevented a full mental breakdown at Y-12.
Game Changing, mine changing in specific
This is a great game changer (as many other reviews have stated) and it is very helpful for mining even if you only have a few torches and no coal. Also just cool ambience.

Works okay but not extensible
The mod does a good job at what it is advertising to do. It is however lacking any hooks for other mods to tweak the behaviour without remaking the entire mod. Instead I recommend using wielded_light in combination with 3d_armor_light. It does the same thing but also supports light from dropped items and offers an API for other mods to utilize. As such, it is much more likely to be compatible with other mods.
