What's Toki Pona? 🔗
Toki Pona ^1 is a conlang, or fictional language, invented by Sonja Lang in 2014. It has a very small dictionary of only about 150 words. For comparison, english has about 300,000 words, depending on who you ask ^2. Because there are such a small number of words, it's possible to assign a small drawing to each word, similar to an emoji. The official set of simple pictograms for toki pona is called "sitelen pona" ^3, which literally means "simple pictures".
In the screenshot above, I translated "NodeCore" as "musi pi leko insa". "musi" means game, "leko" means square or cube, and "insa" means inside or core. "pi" means that the noun on the left is described by the phrase on the right, so all together, this means "cube-core game".
