Any modder creating a game will have the sounds or know where to find them or the game isn't complete. Writing a mod for a game that is supposed to have default but doesn't sounds like a personal issue.
Have you seen how many mods depend on default? I'd rather they not all load duplicate textures and mods. I'd also like to see some of those mods that don't actually need Minetest Game (which is what requiring default really means) be available for other games.
