Most blocks are broken with left-click and placed with right-click.
This mod makes chests an exception, since you pick them up with shift-RIGHT-click.
Changing this mod's keybinding would make it more consistent.
Making pick-up a 'break' action might also simplify adding more features in the future, e.g. making 'heavy' chests take non-zero time to pick up could perhaps be implemented more easily with block-breaking APIs.
Dont look at it as if you are interacting with it like any other block, you are picking it up. The only thing you can do after you pick it up is place it back down.
With right click you interact with items/tools/block inventoies and other things in the world. Shift-RIGHT-click, as to say "yes interact with this, but in a different way", which in this case is to pick it up.
idk, maybe you can look at it my way.
What I may do in the future is make it so that your movement is slowed down depending on how much stuff is in the block_inventories.. so like if there are lots of stuff in it, best you can do is place it down somewhere else within your reach but not be able to move around (just coming up with ideas here).
Sure, it's not just a break action, but it does seem like more of a break-y interaction than a place-y interaction...
But anyway, thanks for the response!
RE the slow movement, yes please!
It reminds me of the 'encumbered' effect from various RPG games, but would be much more fun with this mod.
It could also help modders make RPG style games ("of course these muscular dwarves can carry more than those skinny elves!")
