i've always thought minetest game's "fire" mod was lacking, but i could never find a good replacement. now i've finally found a mod that adds straight fire 🔥
(i do find the messages annoying, perhaps add an option to disable them?)
I've noted that yeah the messages would be hella annoying. I've debated saving them to the world data or yeah adding a setting for them - that would be a better idea actually. Main reason for not saving them to world data was that I didn't want my mod bloating up the size of a world unnecessarily - and the reason for not doing the latter was just laziness and I think not having any idea on how to do it?
As a lil fun tidbit - if you ever wanna have your own music play while playing - you can use any .ogg or export any song in audacity or any audio editor that lets you - into .ogg and place it inside the sounds folder. Will play it AUTOMATICALLY - and properly :3
i'll try to do a pull request adding such a setting, allegedly you add a file called settingtypes.txt into the mod folder, and access it using core.settings
