I feel that this is a lovely work that is done from someone that enjoys or has enjoyed there work. But it is with a heavy heart I must say if you are wanting the textures to mostly work then you will need to use the original authers work in mineclonia. But if I can once this texture pack gets updated to work with mineclonia then I will review it and and re-edit this review.
Sorry. This will never fully cover Mineclonia. The scope is too great. MC has waaaaaaaaaay too many unique blocks.
Partial compatibility could be achieved if the engine had better support for texture packs. Then at least common textures could be displayed right.
It also says that this texture pack is for MTG on the page.
However feel free to contribute. If you want to do it, you can.
Thanks for the reply and clearing afew things up. But to be honest all I hope for is the tools / Weapons things that sit in your hand and the water when it comes to mineclonia. the original hand painted mostly works but the water and no copper items and with this one the tools are missing handles. I would help if I could but to be honest I most likely wouldn't know what I was doing. I tend to need videos to watch a few times before I can try something new. I was a modder too but for FO4 so i know how tough it can be at times but like i said its cool. But look (1WhoWalksInTheDark up with What should have been.) on bethesda.net sometime I have had millions download that or those mods across three consoles i updated that mod everyday or night and sometimes twice in one night because of a error that i didnt see. The stess got to me bad and I already have two mental things so the stress made it worse so I stopped working on it that and I was running out of ideas too but there was things I wanted to do but didnt know how to code.
But like I said if you dont want to its fine I know there would be a lot of work and headaches with the cross over but its cool if you don't feel up for it ever.
Yeah, I broke that by using texture filters for the tools. "the original hand painted mostly works" Even something as basic as coal ore has different texture names compared to MTG. I wouldn't call that mostly. Not even the grass is compatible with MCL. I duplicated the grass textures with mcl naming scheme. More of a temporary solution. I can't go duplicating all textures and giving them all kinds of names to add compatibility to other games and mods. It will just end up ballooning without actually properly supporting anything. I did tell the engine devs but they don't really seem to care and don't think it is a priority.
If I had a say, I'd say we do need a mapping file of virtual texture names to actual texture files with filter support. I don't see a better solution. And texture pack stacking would certainly help coverage. Like how MC does it. It's very hard for one pack to cover literally everything and it doesn't really make sense but MC also had packs you wanted to look at and packs you always used below because they covered everything, got frequent updates and also supported every mod ever made.
