This mod has saved me time on countless occasions where I needed to look straight in a specific direction. With it, you can:
measure movement and in-game items (like compasses) consistently in cases where pitch or yaw matter,
take (fairly) deterministic screenshots when testing things (primarily mapgen) by providing the mapgen name, seed, coordinates to /teleport to, and a description of the angle to grind (e.g. "+X/+Z diagonal yaw, 0 pitch"), which is then easy to locate via the debug menu,
film Luanti footage where you want to look straight while auto-moving (e.g. landscape flyovers, cinematic scrolls looking straight down from above, and so on),
and probably more than I can even remember.
The controls are smartly chosen, too: holding Aux1 to snap to the closest "straight" angle while stationary becomes intuitive very quickly, and it's good that it's accompanied by a shutter-like sound effect. I understand that angle snapping not working while moving is a technical limitation, but I'd honestly prefer it stay that way even if it gets resolved, since many games (and even mods) bind Aux1 to a hold-with-forward-to-sprint action.
Mods come and go, but as a dev and part-time content creator, this is one I install in every Luanti setup. Gold by our dear Gold1024, just as usual!
