Death on falling is not implemented. If you want to respawn, use the /killme command. This is semi-intentional. (also, Z is a horizontal axis lmao)
Also, the apple tree sapling never turned into a tree even after waiting for a in-game day.
sounds like a skill issue. i use mulch and my trees grow in less than a minute
This game is too broken.
yet quite a few people still manage to play it just fine.

Falling crashes the game
Can you tell me more? I've noticed that my server silently crashed a few times when people fell down very deep; there wasn't even an error message. I can't fix it because i have no idea what causes it to begin with.
I just waited for my tree to grow while making a small platform around it, taking time to explore the many crafting recipes and figure out how to craft my way forwards. :P Now I have an island with 20 saplings and 7 spaces between each, so I don't lose leaves (which I use as fuel in the furnace :P)
Anyway, I'll share some details in my own review. But make sure you check out the recipes, because it's all there. Cumbersome, but there.

Can you provide some quick tips for the new players in the begining or a new game? Like how to start and such stuff.
I am curious, is dying every time you load the game an integral part of it? I have damage enabled, and it seems that every time I load the game, I die, and leave no bones (which probably is also why I have no inventory per death.) Also, it doesn't like you loading the game on a short node, in that the object you spawn on, disappears.
Actually, thinking on it, it seems to be based on whether damage mode is on. But, is it really necessary to tax the player for every time they enter the game, with damage mode?

Correction: Your version works fine. Which leaves the error on mine. It does the kill on load for mine, when damage is enabled and not yours. And it was as long as I remember. So, I will need to find out which mod I added or changed that made such happen.

Oh, sorry, what I meant it is crashing the gameplay (without using commands like /killme).
And for the sapling, I just planted it without using any items to speed up the process.
You're supposed to use logs and leaves to craft mulch, and then use them on the sapling.
