Hello, I've just started using this mod and already want to suggest some things:
When you place a monitor, it gets flipped to a really weird orientation. You need to use a screwdriver and break it because it takes a bit to figure out how to rotate it to upside-up, facing you. Can you fix that?
It would be great if turning off/on the monitor would send a digiline signal, so the luacontroller can e.g. shutdown or boot the OS without requiring a seperate switch or to show the prompt.
OPTIONALLY make a color monitor that changes color based on sent messages' formatting or whatever (I can't explain it, so here's a simple example: "Hi \b\there\b/!" would change the color of 'there" to blue, excluding the "!".
Kudos for giving feedback! I'm not the main mod creator, but here's what I think:
The rotation is done like that so that you can place it in any rotation, it faces away from the block you place it on. If that were to be changed then it would be very unintuitive how to make monitors on the floor or roof. I don't know how common those use cases are but still.
The monitor power button idea is fun, however it would break with the compatibility of the nodes by e.g. causing the monitor to send a message to every other monitor that is connected on the same channel when it turns off, showing its power off message on those screens. This message could be sent to some specially named channel, but I don't know how that could be done in a clean way. I guess it could be a new text field in the channel selection screen where you select which channel the On and Off messages will go to. I'm not really sure how useful that would be though.
I like the color monitor idea, but I don't know enough about Luanti fonts to add that personally.
