One of my favorite seeds for a new Luanti game (either Asuna or Minetest Game) is 0 (that is, the number zero), using the v7 mapgen. You might also consider using the "Low Road" and "pathv7 redo" mods, which add a couple of different road systems to the map. Those can make it a lot easier to orient yourself and to get around.
Edit: The two road system mods aren't made to be used together and that can have some strange results where the two road systems cross. It still works, though.
Asuna is kind of a "kitchen sink" game with lots of different mods included, but it's all been tested to make sure things work together without too many conflicts. Adding more mods that do the same thing as existing mods can work, but it can also throw a monkey wrench into things, and should be done with caution, if at all. Mods that add completely new things (UI compass, magic, etc.) should be fine, but a mod that (for instance) adds new biomes might cause a lot more trouble than it's worth.
If you're going to do that sort of thing, it's best to start with Minetest Game as your base, because Minetest Game is made for that.
I hope so. I played around with it for a bit, but couldn't figure out what the heck I was doing, so just dropped it and went back to other things. I know that some people like the experience of just messing around not knowing what they're doing, but I have kind of a low frustration tolerance and would like at least a little bit of direction. Like I said, it's a cool concept but not something that I enjoy in its current state. If someone does pick it up, I hope they have some kind of documentation to go along with it (in-game documentation would be ideal).
I'd consider taking it on myself, but my coding skills are currently in the "just good enough to be dangerous" category, and I don't think I could actually improve anything with a mod this ambitious.
This is a "work in progress" that was last updated six years ago, which IMHO kind of stretches the definition of "in progress." I hope that someone will fork this and keep working on it, because it's a pretty cool concept that deserves to be further developed.
Minetest Game (abbreviated MTG) is a simple and peaceful sandbox game, with no real goals or built-in enemy mobs.
While it provides a basic gameplay experience out of the box, it is best played with mods.
Minetest Game does exactly what it says it does, and is very good at it. Giving it a bad review for being good at what it claims to be good at is like giving a Ford Escort a bad review for not being a BMW.
This is a fun mod, and the fall damage protection is very useful. I do have a request: Would it be possible to have magic wings (perhaps using the magic materials mod) that drain mana instead of stamina? That would be amazing for fantasy-themed games.

Thanks. My fix was, basically,
I.e., "nuke it from orbit."
Weeds? Really? That's just cruel.

It says, "Use with mapgen v7 only," but I'm using it with the flat map generator and it seems to work just fine.

Wielded Light does strange, annoying things underwater. Illumination might not be as flexible, but I prefer it.
I think it's overall a good tutorial to the Luanti games that aren't too weird. I would like to see a section about light and torches, though.
Why can't I endorse a mod without writing an essay? It's a good mod and you should use it.
