Recipes for the forge blocks aren't intended to similar, ironically enough I used scales for the recipe because I needed to find a use for scales without doing armor in order to avoid being too similar to Ice and Fire. Most other things that I know are shared between the mods have a similar root in the source material: The Dragon Horn is based upon the Dragonbinder in the novels and Draconic Steel is based on Valyrian Steel.
I appreciate the positive review, and the comparison is (to an extent) valid. However, most things come down to source material. Most of the ideas in this mod come from George R. R. Martins "A Song of Ice and Fire" series of novels, which is the same source material that Minecraft mod uses. The only thing in this mod that I used the Minecraft mods influence for is the Cavern Spawning setting, which directly credits Ice and Fire in the settings menu. As for doing the same things to a T, If you have good examples of anything being an exact copy, I'd love to hear them.
EDIT: The Summoning Gem was also inspired by Ice and Fire, my bad. Didn't include it in original post because I forgot it was in the mod. I've merged its ability into the Dragon Horn.
Thanks for the review. It's nice seeing a review that clearly states what issues there are. I'm working on an update that will expand on behavior and add some new mobs, as well as making a big change to enable all of this. If you're not against the platform, I'd recommend joining the Discord at https://discord.gg/vUXFfr8Zpg. I have channels set up for development updates and making suggestions for mods.
Thanks for the positive review. The Bestiary has to be filled with information manually, using manuscript and a lectern. This system will change in the next update.
One of the most confusing things about this community is the overwhelming usage of this mod. It's a prime example of the worst and yet most common trope of Minetest modding, bloat. It seems every mod has to be full to the brim with useless and low quality content, and while this does have unique features amongst farming mods, like pots and pans, or the terellis and bean poles that add an extra element to farming and cooking, it seems that in this pursuit of having a bunch of different foods and equipment hasn't left much time for making those foods worth the effort besides filling up a bar slightly more than something else, and that isn't even the worst part of this mod. The art is awful. From very familiar assets to the clashing of 32x and 16x textures, this mods art looks like something out of a 3rd grade arts and crafts class. This mod would greatly benefit from a pause on new content and a overhaul of all art assets, preferably assets that aren't stolen and modified.

for a today the old version was still up because ContentDB threw a fit about mod.conf. Can you give me the crash message and/or put it on github?
Version number? Crash Report? This is less of a review and more of a vague crash report that might not even be relevant anymore.
I'd accept the offer, but I'm already working on a texture overhaul for my mods since I'm switching up my style a bit with better, more strict palettes. Here's a preview https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/900871380948619334/947057787249246248/screenshot_20220226_010829.png
Some of these palettes (like the orange egg) will be changed.

Good to know. It didn't allow this last time I ahd used it so it's good to know that changed. I'll remove it from the description.

if you have sufficient privileges, you can use /force_tame while pointing at a wild dragon to tame it.
I think you'll be happy with the latest update. Performance has seen some big improvements, especially when Dragons are using their breath attacks.
Fixed. As a disclaimer, you'll need to manually uninstall the previous version to use the new one.

Yep, they can be bred with the items listed under "Follows:" in the description.
