Good WIP No Man's Sky
This game has potential and continues to improve.
As it sits, I can recommend it to a general audience because it's a cool exploration experience on its own, and will inspire some new ideas for new-comers.
If you are interested in this kind of game, you should reach out to what seems like a decently active game dev for a minetest game - they would probably appreicate the help.
Worth Learning!
This is not simple game; It will NOT immediately click.
But once it does - this is a really creative game that will leave you impressed.
Tip
This is game I do recommend looking up stuff about after struggling for a while, because even reading a step by step guide won't be able to get you an understanding. Only by playing will you appreciate this game, and that's the best kind of game!
Solid Puzzle Game - Solid Atmosphere
This is Fun!
You will likely finish in one sitting, but:
Not many better ways to spend an evening playing a videogame.
For those curious:
It's a space-based 3d-puzzle-game where you move along one of the 3 axis (X,Y,Z) to slam into a block so you don't fly into space, trying to get from start to end of each puzzle.
Not great gameplay - not much incentive to play - except if I have like 10 friends...
Nobody has 10 friends laying around ready to play a game - glad you are hosting a server, but in the meantime - you might want to put effort into creating some AI for ghosts (and explorers, if possible), so its playable and enjoyable for less than like 5 people.
Just my two cents - otherwise I love the assets chosen and love the different theming behind the game idea.
One Idea is not enough
yep - ABM based mapgen changing as you walk is a solid idea. But not a game - give the idea some more love and this could be a lot of fun. I - for one - would love to have aura's where I walk and change the world to sand or volcanic ash or whatever - but that sounds more like a mod. Any ideas for a game goal?
Needs Some More Work
The base is there, but it'll need some more scripts for the various missions - I see where it's going, just ran out of time for the Game Jam - let us know if you need pointers on how to pull some of the missions off..
A Eerie Puzzle, with Eerie plot, and Eerie bugs!
Puzzling!
You can solve this puzzle a ton of different ways. Explore each and every era carefully and methodically. Search those nooks and crannies! It will take patience.
Really solid level design, honestly. Great Jam Entry - and a good entry for Minetest generally.
Plot!
Yep, it adds and doesn't subtract.
Current Bugs!
Someone Actually Extended Labyrinth!
Thank you for adding another style to the game, always cool to see someone put the effort into reading the decently readable code, haha.
My only complaint is the invisible nodes that force me to walk down the center of the 3-wide hallways - but it's a minor complaint. Just glad to see more content for Labyrinth, thanks again!
More than just Parkour!
It's more than parkour, thank goodness!
It's got puzzles, and text, and..... oof only a few levels.
Hey good enough for me, now we have a game we can hopefully make specifcally parkour things for, thank you!
Suggestions on next moves:
Overall: Nothing amazing or out of left field here, but definitely gets the ball rolling!
A lot good, good coloring and theming, looking forward to smoother gameplay in the future
It's a fun mechanic, being a balloon! And the artstyle is on point, and the game goal is good: high score, fly a balloon. Well done there.
But: that doesn't stop the game from being frustrating.
The coins and powerups are randomly placed, which is good, but makes comparing high scores useless in many respects.
I think it could be a great game with post-jam modifications if:
The mapgen is fixed up, and is the same between worlds, or at least repeatable
level(s) are designed to be pre-loaded so that I don't have to try flying over non-existent land (And this is not a bad computer, by any means)
The score formspec is made nicer, and instructions are given at startup
P.S. The birds are the best part:)
Great Theme, Great Puzzles, Good Game
Without spoilers, lets try to give a decent review:
Other details: * It needs some music, feel free to reach out an I can spin up some for you if you want. * Voice acting or microsoft sam might be appropriate for the text * some sort of multiplayer where I drink for both, and they place blocks for both, or something similar might be really interesting
A must have for nearly every server or game.
World edit is powerful and a great tool. There are extensions for it that can make it easier to use, but the core mod is wonderful. I cannot reccomend having it enough. It's an integral part of node-based games everywhere.
Good system, I like the look
Never had a problem with unified inventory and it has good support among other mods, such as terumet...
Absolutely a blast
It's like a minigame in itself!
Core Creative/Building modpack
Homedecor is a simple, must have that is light on system resources. Enjoyed it for many years.
My favorite technic-style system
I have played minetest for about 3 years now, and truly appreicate how fun automation is with techpack. It's compact and doesn't kill server performance. Highly Recommended.
