Good point. The stuck-view is a bit of a vestigial artifact from some of the first unsuccessful attempts to get the cockpit- view working. Unfortunately, if I understand correctly, the Luanti framework doesn’t allow for the actual tilting or rotating of the horizon itself, which is quite necessary for a proper cockpit view. Fortunately, we were able to get the planes to be able to control like a traditional flight simulator, but only by using follow view.
I’ll try taking out the view sticking, and see if it still works OK. Heck, maybe that will reduce some of the skipping us that a lot of people are experiencing.
If anyone has suggestions on making it work better, let me know. My kids and I are able to have a great time dogfighting once it does load well, but it sounds like it’s taking some computers an especially long time to stop the lagging.
I'll work on that, and hopefully update. If others download the code and are able to get a better result, that would be great, too! I'd love to make this a team effort. Flight simulators can be great fun, and generally speaking, the Luanti framework has great potential for this.
I hoping we can build a bunch more new plane mods, airport mods, and more detailed landscapes.
Yeah, we’ve had it slow to start, too. I’ll try some more debugging to see ifI can get it smoother. If has suggestions on getting it better loaded up front, let me know. Once that gets ironed out, there’s all kinds of fun potential for new plane mods, airport mods, and more detailed landscapes.
