Ther are still at least some of the old issues with saplings: tropical trees drop an unknown item instead of a sapling, and autumn tree saplings don't grow.
The darkforest has gone missing in action. I'm guessing you are working off a version of variety which doesn't have it, the way I have only seen a version without terracotta. But seriously, darkforest is THE biome. :)
In a recommendation text file, you recommend that the tropical forest and cypress biome be disabled, but why, and is whatever is wrong with them, temporary? There are also recommendations for changing some heat and humidity points; since it's a fork anyway, why not change the defaults and maybe leave the note about what the old values were? Edit: right, I didn't read the name of the file, now I get it.
The version of Variety that I forked is the only version of it I had, I don't know of another version that has darkforest. I'll look into it if there is another version I can find. I'll see if I can fix the problems with the saplings, thanks for pointing out the problem.
Regarding the "recommendation text file" it was originally a note to myself that has to do with another mod I uploaded this time one I made myself called awuuwa's Biomes https://content.luanti.org/packages/awuuwa/awuuwa_biomes/ as the filename suggests it has to do with compatibiltity with that mod but I guess it wasn't clear what it's purpose is so I should have probably removed that file when uploading this package.
I'll take a copy of your version for sure. Since I assume you are okay with uploading it publicly given it's planned to get integrated into this public mod anyway, then I'm fine with you using some public fire sharing website. If you know how to use I2P, which I recommend people to use, there is for example sharefile.i2p this way you can also upload whilst hiding your identity and I2P is good. I'll prefer a good I2P site because it respects the freedom and privacy of the people involved, so I recommend avoiding some junk clearnet website with garbage, but those are also possible as options and the user should use tor.
Yeah no, I'm not upt the task of learning I2P right now. Wetransfer then or something within 24 hours or so, and I will read up on I2P. I do vaguely understand privacy is good but it seemed irrelevant here, on my side.
The requirements for where I accept downloading files are: preferrably websites that work with LibreJS https://www.gnu.org/software/librejs/ web extension, websites that don't block tor, and no logins / accounts required, and I'm not going to use peer-to-peer software with strangers on the internet unless it's trough something like I2P or Tor with onionshare as an example.
Since Luanti mods are basically just text files (.lua), there are also "pastebin" type web services that allow pasting code and text files there, they are probably the easiest way to share the mod. I'm not going to offer anything specfic, I'll wait for you to post whatever link to the file.
Regarding privacy being good, I will note that the reason I'm in the Luanti scene is because nonfree software is bad including a certain popular voxel game. The issues of nonfree software spying on it's users and more broadly mass surveillance etc. are also adjacent to the Free Software Movement I support, see https://www.gnu.org/
So I have it available through onionshare, should I just put the adress and key here or do you wnt to receive it in a pm somewhere, say, the luanti forum? Or should I make it available without a key and paste the address here? I can hopefully be online over the next few days during daylight hours, GMT.
I have downloaded it. If I don't get back to you then you can assume everything has worked and the download did not get corrupted or anything like that. I'll then integrate it into my variety-fork in my own time as I see fit.

It's a great biome mod and I missed it!

Want my copy of darkforest? Somehow? By email?
Pretty please could you fix all the saplings to work with bonemeal?

Thank you! And for steering me a little, guess this was the first time I used Tor for anything, but it's likely to become useful again in the future.
