Thank you for taking the time to review VoxelForge, I will look into the crafting guide bug, and it will be fixed in the next release. I apologize for any inconvenience.
I thank you for your time, and have a great day :-)
The spawn bug is a bug in both MCLA and this, not sure how to fix it, but feel free to open a report on github. As for the font, That font doesn't seem to support Your language, so I will make it not enabled by default. The textures missing will be fixed Next week.
Shader packs can do this yes, but technically mods are easier to install and modify since you don't have to entirely quit minetest for every little change
bug report (short version) is anything that doesnt work/causes a crash, etc. in this case the package didnt work at all, so it has been delisted till its fixed, if you find similar ones, please report them to us
What do you consider a bug report, so that I can know for future referance, because apparently we both think of bug reports differently. And what part was the bug report,? I'm trying to save people time by warning them this game is deprecated and doesn't work. Not once did I say what the issue was.
It's not like I was saying, oh there is such and such bug here. I'm saying it's deprecated and doesn't work correctly, warning people. There are plenty of reviews that say stuff is buggy, or deprecated without actually reporting the bug.
The power of open-source is in collaboration. By making the code accessible only to you, you prevent people from contributing to it. A plumber won't be able to fix piping that they can't understand. (bad analogy but whatever)
I partly agree, but there's no point of adding something no one will use.
By making the code accessible only to you
I'm not sure I understand this.
"a greatly simplified and rewritten version"
Offtopic: the screenshot you put in the long description doesn't render. You should link it to the ContentDB media file as everything else (e.g. imgur) seems to be broken by it.
I accidently used the old readme (As In. I forgot to push the new one to git.)
First of all. Thank you for taking the time to review this.
I update things as they are requested, hence the reason that It's not exactly an api anymore. My target audience isn't really developers. But more regular players.
As far as I'm aware the api has not really been used by any mods (except one. And that was yours),so if noone is going to use the api it is just a waste of resources. There's no point in adding something that people won't make use of. If someone wants to make use of an api for this. I'd gladly re-add the api. I try to make things as resource friendly as possible. I just can't see any use of wasting more resources on an api that probably won't be used. (no matter how few resources it uses)
it is disappointing to get a review after what seems like a very short play time. Don't judge a book by its cover as they say.
Please don't assume. You have no idea how long I played (which, to clarify. It was for about an hour and a half)
The short description on the page says "Aims to get all existing high quality mods working together." I think maybe you've approached this game with the wrong expectations.
I understand that. I also know, that I can't tell any difference. I've made some stuff in both this game and default minetest. And I can't notice any difference. Though maybe that's just due to my pc.
It is true, as you outlined, that you can just download every mod you want. We don't think that gives a very good gaming experience though, and most people will give up after a few mods.
Naturally. It's mainly about what people like. I prefer picking my own mods. For some people this game probably would be very good. And for those with not very good pcs there probably is an improvement.
There are currently 87 mods in WhyNot. What we try to do is follow a set of rules that will makes sure this many mods work well together, don't conflict or overlap, and overall will make an enjoyable mining & crafting style game that highlights the best the Minetest community has to offer.
Same as above two.
I rated this game based off of how I thought it was, and how it did for me. That definently shouldn't determine whether or not, you ( the person reading this now.) should or shouldn't download the game. Go and try the game, to make a decision.
(As I'm sure you can tell. I'm not a fan of mod soups. For me this is just like enabling a bunch of regular mods.) Though don't let that turn you away. If you want a game that has lots to offer and is relatively easy to download and run, by all means this is a good choice.
At it's current state this game is unplayable. It crashes on startup due to being very old, and it hasn't had an update in 3 years. I believe this needs to be marked with the deprecated tag.
Just like the original this game offers a nice challenge. It does very good keeping the overall idea. It balances complexity with strategy perfectly. Very good job.
This mod is extremely useful. It's great for mining, and overall walking at night. Often I find myself struggling to see the MT world during night, and this really helps.
This game is another mod soup. There doesn't seem to be any custom mods. I could just as easily look through the mod list and download every mod I wanted, as I could download this game. Bad things aside.
It does kinda have goals, making you want to play a bit longer.
It does work pretty well.
This game is basically another mod soup,
Almost every mod included in this game you can get elsewhere for mtg.
The graphics aren't the greatest. (at least for my tastes)
Performance wise: it's not the best.
It has 4 texture errors for missing images, which was already reported a couple of weeks ago.
Since different people have different needs this will probably never fully fit your building style.
Pros:
However, It is convient that alot of mods are in one place.
Depending on your style, It is a fair start for building.
Overall Rating: 3.5/10
Perhaps in the future I will bump this up, but we'll see where the game goes.
The textures are really good. This is the quality I would expect from a good texture pack. But it's also more well thought out that the original pixel perfection pack. Very nice textures. I look forward to see where this goes. Keep up the good work.
Still it is a bug, and it does cause huge performance issues. I wouldn't give Voxelibre a -1 vote for this, but it is something that bothers me. It's not like i'm exagerating. I'm just saying it how it is.
One of the reasons I don't play Voxelibre is due to the fact that my PC can't run it for long periods of time, without my fps dropping. After a while it gradually gets worse until sometimes it's at 1 fps. The mineclonia team has spent countless hours trying to get this game stable and performant. And they succeeded. This game averages 40 fps (At least on my pc). I strongly recommend this game.
My thanks to the mineclonia devs who have spent so long trying to make this game stable.
Zughy: in the end one of the wizards "helping" you ended up being the monster that stole the crystal. I believe that's where this fits into the unexpected theme.
works very well, it's a bit confusing at first, but the code explains a lot. for the digilines button you'll want to set both the channel name and message to GET. And everything else gets set to channel GET.
Thank you for taking the time to review VoxelForge, I will look into the crafting guide bug, and it will be fixed in the next release. I apologize for any inconvenience.
I thank you for your time, and have a great day :-)
This mod doesn't add mobs. And if you're saying that mobs mods enabled don't spawn mobs, that is most likely not the fault of this mod.
Thank You!
I entirely agree. That's a view point I never thought of.
That's probably a bug on my end. I'll look into it.
Thanks :-)

This definently is not a game. This is very plain and there's almost nothing to do by itself. If you did play this, you'll probably want to add mods.
As for the modding base. That's about the only thing this is good for.
I recommend you look through the 80 other games to find a better one to play.
Also you won't find new features in this anytime soon. This game is in a "permanent" feature freeze.

Note: This is not a bug report of any kind.
This review is neutral due to the fact that I never got a chance to play the game. This review is solely based on its current state.
Potential users be warned. This game doesn't work currently due to being unmaintained for over three years and is thus deprecated.
This review will be changed when/if the game starts receiving updates again, and is thus playable.
This review wasn't a bug report. I was warning people that the game doesn't work.
I partly agree, but there's no point of adding something no one will use.

Very nice And very lightweight mod. Works well. Though the gui could use a bit of a fresher look. Also very easy to port skins to it.
Overall: 9/10

MineClone2 (Voxelibre) has no relation with mojang. Mojang has never endorsed this game.
Still it is a bug, and it does cause huge performance issues. I wouldn't give Voxelibre a -1 vote for this, but it is something that bothers me. It's not like i'm exagerating. I'm just saying it how it is.

I apologize for that. I've been very busy in the past couple months and I've forgotten to add it.
Edit: Source Code is here
Again I apologize for forgetting.
i believe the name change is due to VoxeLibre no longer being a minecraft clone
Does exactly what it says. No joke.
When writing this review I didn't have much knowledge about mapgen.
The sword texture has now been changed, it is now a custom texture, but it is still similar to Sakel's to keep the overall design the same.
This package is quite outdated and doesn't seem to be maintained anymore
Zughy: in the end one of the wizards "helping" you ended up being the monster that stole the crystal. I believe that's where this fits into the unexpected theme.

currently this mod, tkr_nether_public, and throwable bombs have git repositories, more are coming later

if you have suggestions for this mod pls type them here
