Our bow is used similarly to Minecraft, meaning you hold right-click to use it on computers.
However, Minetest 5.8 doesn't allow us to implement separate mobile controls... and there is no way to hold a double-tap (technically could be holding the second tap, but again, Minetest doesn't do that), which emulates right-click on mobile. Half of the bow mods for Minetest Game have the same problem. The other half is using a control scheme different than Minecraft.
Minetest 5.9 will probably bring a way to utilize the touch controls better, but it's on them. We are prepared to implement it. However, it will take until their release, and will require Minetest 5.9... so people on earlier versions will still have the problem (and we support at least 2 last versions, at the moment 5.6+).
Therefore, I am thinking about a workaround that will allow usage of bows, crossbows, spyglasses etc. for the time being. No promises though, and the next release is planned for February, so you will probably have to survive without bows until then.
Fishing does give treasures, and newly-added Luck effect increases your luck when fishing, among other things.
Outdated. Campfires can now cook food, since 0.85. Mob spawning works better and will be improved further.
Introduced a workaround to this in hotfix 0.86.1. Bows, crossbows and spyglasses can now be used with the zoom key, allowing for proper use on mobile.
