I like it
For the stair fix alone it is awesome. Will be using more often.
An excellent Geode mod
It has no default dependency. I recommend you set your geodes to generate in mapgen_stone so you can take advantage of this mod further.
I used it to generate 29 geode types at once, and thanks to a new feature you can set them to generate less frequently. backdaniel and I worked together to fix that.
You can occasionally get split open geodes if a side generates in air, another nice feature. You get lots of control over the geodes from setting up budding blocks to making more than 3 layers.
The only thing I could think of that could make it any better is non-spereical geodes and the ability to set the interior node to something other than air.
New rating is 10/10 after the fix for frequency.
I should have used this sooner
This will be an invaluable tool moving toward. It only seems to work in new worlds, but maybe I am doing something wrong. but it does work. slows systems may struggle, and the lighting engine does not always know the chunk has been updated. but that is not the mod's fault. 10/10 for mod making. not recommended for survival unless you are really weird.
A good mod
It is not without issues, but I was able to address those and made a fork. As-is, it is definitely usable, but requires you to grab it from the creative inventory. There are minor misspellings, but the author is French so I cannot blame him. I still don't fully understand the API, but I want to study it, and make more items uncraftable in future. If Troodon wishes to fork my content back in, then great.
It works, it's stained glass
That's about it. I don't know if I am a huge fan of the frame being opaque, but this may be a limit of the glass mod.
Almost a required mod
The world depth means it could be hours before you get a metal bucket.
this is a nice mod to fix that without making ores too easy to get.
How have I never seen these?
I will admit, they aren't the fanciest, but they work, and they are fireworks. You could make an actual show with these. Though the particles may need turned up a bit to be larger if you eant a professional show look. They work by placing them on the ground, then punching them or using Mesecons to activate them. I am almost shocked torch and flint aren't options. This is not meant to be negative by the way, it's just so close to being perfect.
I can't believe these aren't part of wool already.
They work nicely. I don't know if I like the recipes, but overall, it just works, and now my bedroom is much cozier. I can finally put my mega cotton farm to use.
It works
yeah, it just works, there is no argument. You could happily enjoy water life all you wanted.
Has potential, but needs help
I am going to see if I can fix the issues I have. It is creative only, and needs slightly better textures. I have some textures on my hard drive that would do nicely. Now I just have to track down a few mods to see what I can use to make this mod survival friendly. We only need chickens, tomatoes, and mushrooms.
Edit: I will try to make my overhaul. If I end up liking it enough, I might just make my own mod but give you credit for inspiration. This way I can actually keep it up to date and such without a middleman. No offense meant obviously.
Works as Expected
Maybe don't play heavily modded on Android, but it will still hold up. I had low FPS, but I am sure I could decrease render distance, or play on an actual PC for better experience. It gives a nice random selection from all mods installed. And, it spawns you near 0, 0, 0. It might be a good idea to get some stuff setup beforehand in creative. Such as a small island akin to the original Skyblock.
It brings some more variety without being overwhelming.
Not all mods are balanced between size and features and focus on one thing. This mod attempts very little, and does so well. The textures could be prettier, but the only ones I have any issues with are ones that I already thought were ugly in MTG. Is it for everyone? No. But, you may find it handy.
It's cool to see my textures being used
I had actually hoped people could and would adapt my textures eventually. And, well, someone did! Also, interesting use of the glass batch texture. It is a simple mod, very basic, but it works. My only request is maybe bring back the cracked brick?
I don't see why this exists
A lot of effort went in, and there are inclusions that similar mods would never have as well. But, this has no reason to exist unless you desperately want a new ore. It does what it says well though, so I can't fault it there. If you want a new tier of tools, armor, and weapons, this does that well.
It does what it says
the only possible gripe I could give is that all raw ores use the same texture in this mod rather than having unique textures like Minecraft which it is obviously copied off of. But the colors match nicely, and it gives you a way to store stuff until you have enough spare coal or wood or charcoal to smelt. In a pinch, they could also be decorative depending on your tastes.
Simple, effective.
Apparently I was not the only one who disliked holes being added to existing nodes. In my opinion, you should either add new nodes, or just make do with what already exists, not modify existing content. Sure, sometimes the default content may be ugly, but make a texture pack or separate mod. Anyway, really good mod here. It fixes this small gripe I have.
It's good, feels complete
That said, it sticks to the default look almost too well. If you find default bad for any reason other than too large of palettes or some slightly wonky color choices, this doesn't do much. It's very reminiscent of those compromise packs for Minecraft that attempt to combine the new and old looks of the game. I have to give it credit in a few specific places though. It works wonders on Jungle trees, cobblestone, and the palette for each of the sands.
It adds a few skins
And even better still, you can add your own or several of your own using the API. It's got good documentation. And, it's stable.
An excellent resource for testing and developing mods
It has barebones functionality, so will never be for actual gameplay. It also lacks default which can help for making universal mods. And, it has example nodes of most types you could want to make. It has example liquids, and examples of all pre-existing drawtypes. It really is a great modding tool overall.
Really good, but simplistic at times
You can come across a lot of nothing. That's not to say it's empty, but in-between the lava lakes can be rather expansive. Much more so than in Minecraft. It gives you a much more terrifying and expansive place though. I don't want to spoil the experience though, so that's all I'll say. Try it out, by default it will spawn pretty high up in your world, so maybe try in a test world first to see if you like that depth, then configure it if you don't.
It does what it says
What more can you ask? You get hundreds, possibly thousands of unique items. Unfortunately, they all are just hue and/or value shifts of the same few default items. It's feels a little like the Minecraft 21wInfinite snapshot, but maybe less chaotic.
it's nice, it's simple, it does what it says
If you want a mod that feels like a seamless addition, this is about as seamless as it gets. Now, it does sacrifice size and features, but who needs more ores if they do nothing? These ones have reason to exist. Any additional ones not as much. I'll have to see how well or badly it plays with the nether mod.
One small question? Why does this still have tin? Tin is part of default.
I can't really fault it
It works well, and has some nice features to boot. If you are used to MTG's inventory, this could be confusing. If you like modded Minecraft, then this is basically perfect.
A very delicious mod soup
It is still painfully obvious that this is a blend of mods. But the developer actually blended them and cooked them down into something great. The only thing that really gives it away at this point are the very mix-matched textures. But gameplay is perfect. If you like Minecraft with some biome mods like biomes o'plenty or oh the biomes you'll go, this is a must play. You get new items, cool mapgen, and too many stones. I have personally talked with the Dev, and she has huge plans for this game. Why are you still in the reviews section? Play Asuna instead. Go.
I can't believe it
This is not Minecraft. And yet this mod just works. I wish that there were an enchantment glint, but that is it, this mod is perfect. I will be playing with it in survival a lot more. And, yes, I understand the enchantment glint is not the dev's fault.
Cool, but confusing.
The worlds it makes are amazing. I just wish I could figure out how to break blocks. Unless you aren't supposed to? I've tried everything I can think of, but I can't progress.
Good, but has a problem with resolution
I like the biomes, and most fit in with vanilla so well I have a hard time telling. But, every now and again you run into something with 32x texture resolution and it immediately ruins the immersion. I can only knock it so much though as it adds a lot of good stuff. My only other gripe is how it automatically overwrites leaves, but only it's own leaves and default. I always have to go and turn off the weird leaf settings.
Has potential, but it needs some help
The patterns are nice, but it was obviously done with an overlay, and the monochrome shading looks amateur. The block selection is good as well. The recipe for the chisel has to change though as it overrides the screwdriver included in default which this mod depends on.
I tried to mod it for kicks, don't
It is unique I guess. It is 100% moddable, but the inventory does not agree with mods at all. It will randomly select some nodes from the installed mod(s) and the first two are always the normal grass and stone blocks. The rest will be whatever it felt like grabbing on launch. It is definitely playable, but so simple I doubt I'll do much with it.
it's like Devtest, but even simpler
If Devtest was too complicated for you, and you felt lost in the details, just play this instead. None of those ugly textures or block choices. I guess it's basically the same as Cave Game in many respects.
Ok, now for the serious part. I have started trying to mod without default. It actually isn't too bad. And this is an excellent tool to help. If your mod requires default, this will break it. Which could help you figure out why your mod doesn't work with some other game.
It is good, but suffers from "mod soup"
It is like most games based on default, but higher quality than most. You get the usual, default, Mesecons, mobs_redo. And it works. I imagine it is far better for servers because that is what it is tuned for. You can absolutely play this and have fun. And, I have to say, it is better than Mineclone2 at taking advantage of the sheer power of the Minetest engine. Why does my review sound lackluster then? Because I'd rather have my own soup if I am having soup. I'd just mod MTG to include everything I like from here, and remove the rest. But, if you don't know what you want yet, just try this first. It has most of the really good mods.
Cool, novel.
Annoying to try to mess with in creative or to mod, but great for survival worlds. Interesting mechanics. I can't say much because you really have to just play it. The skybox is cool.
Nice lovely Heckscape to play around in
I don't normally use that kind of language, but I believe if you use a word for the correct meaning instead of as a curse it isn't too bad. Anyway, on to the actual review.
Most Minetest games are based on default, and that is great, but default is noticeably old, and we need some competition and freshness around here. Seriously, I think the last actual MTG feature was over 5 years ago now. This takes the normal excessively easy survival loop and defenestrates it with all the power it can muster. Defenestrate means to throw through a window. Yes, there is a word for that. Anyway, try this game out, and don't touch the lava, it is still hot. And thank you Wuzzy, for trying to make alternative games to MTG. Everyone seems to focus a lot on a certain other project of yours almost too much.
Oh, and Too Many Stones will be compatible very soon. It required major rebasing, but it seems stable. I have to do more testing to be safe though.
Interesting
It is good, I have looked through the files, and it can even grow these trees in mgv6. Name another mod that does that that came out recently. Now, the textures blend well with vanilla MTG. But, I never really liked the complete lack of a palette and the harsh contrast on wood planks. If you like vanilla MTG, but want bigger and more trees, this is your mod. If you want anything else, this might not be what you are after.
It looks good
If I could make the player twice the size, it would be perfect. I wouldn't mind seeing a game that just makes you a giant in this world to make the scale fit. If you like large pixels, get it now. What are you waiting on? If you like HD packs though, you might not be happy.
Mixed feelings
I looks good, but it also looks off. If Minecraft is Coca-Cola, this is Pepsi. But not normal Pepsi, maybe like cherry or sugar free. It is noticeably weird. It colors some things funky. Like dirt being kind-of green. But, it tends to have nice palette sizes for stuff, and supports a large number of big mods.
Good base, not great standalone
It is actually really fun for the first few minutes, maybe even hours. You get to diamonds and build your first house, then what? That's it. By that point you have explored all of the meaningful content. The biomes are beautiful, but there is no reason to visit them. I recommend that the best lightweight community mods get included. There should be restrictions, obviously, but there is no reason not to add new content unless you just hate getting new and recurring players. Don't go overboard, but look at Minecraft, back at Minetest, then back at Minecraft again. Does it almost feel like something is missing? Sure, this is a community project, and will never get the polish or budget of Minecraft. But it does not have to stagnate. We could do better. And we should. Why settle for as good as the competition? Minetest as an engine can do things Minecraft could only dream of. Why let them have the game with more features? Sorry for the rant, but maybe we can make a change if there are enough voices.

Could be great, but breaks most mods
I like it, it is a good basis for modding, but it just breaks mods that require default for no reason other than the author wants a different experience. But, the code is really neat, clean, and modular, and I want to support this game in future with my mod(s). It will require me to completely rewrite huge chunks of code, but the good news is that will get me way closer to Mineclone2 and Nodecore compatibility. I'll continue to play it, and update this review as I find other quirks/features.
Thank goodness, we finally have renewable wood
I ran out of trees in my long-term survival world, and I desperately needed more wood. All I had were useless saplings, then I thought, "surely someone made wood renewable." Then I found this. You saved my world bro. 100/10 can't recommend more.
Minimalistic, only for 5.6+
Not much content that I can see. I never saw another biome besides the trees changing the space between them. I also got a crash while trying to craft anything past the sharp stick on Android due to this game being made for 5.6+. The Android port is stuck at 5.5.1 for at least a while yet from the last time I read anything about it. The textures are very noisy, though you get used to it after a bit. The crafting system only works if the items you want to use are in your hotbar. Probably borrowed from or heavily inspired by Nodecore. The gameplay may be fun for other people, but it is too empty, and the current gameplay loop is too boring to draw me in. And, the bottom log of a tree can never be broken (at least not with stone tier tools which appear to be the only tools right now). Good luck prettying up in a long-term world. Also, forests can get a little laggy, not alarmingly so on my PC though. I'd like to think it is just the large number of vertices, but the forest floor starts filling with sticks and saplings at a somewhat alarming rate. And the grass starts to become dirt if it is dark enough. So it could be a lot of ABMs ticking. My first review was pretty harsh, and being honest, this one is too. I probably won't be playing this game again unless it has some major changes, but check it out, maybe the minimalism is just the thing you'd love.
It just works Ladies and Gentlemen
I wouldn't mind being able to manually edit .mts files, but at least I can create them now. I will definitely be using this newfound power, but for what is still to be decided.
Seems pretty good, very empty
That's basically it. It is a good game if you like liminal spaces like empty schools or warehouses.
Already has about half of 1.20
It isn't a perfect clone, but it's better than Minecraft with its chat reporting feature. I do hope that it switches to a more modern mob API in the near future though.
Finally, someone made a modern version
There was a similar mod on the forums, but it was last updated in like 2017 or something. I know because I had looked for a colorful bed mod for Minetest Game a while back. This is a good mod for those of us who came from Minecraft and miss some of its little features.
One of the best Biome mods, but a little eerie
If you felt like vanilla biomes and ethereal were too happy and uplifting, you have come to the right place. It features high quality textures and spooky landscape. Some places look dead, others look like whatever alive things are there are not friendly. It also blends nicely with vanilla somehow. Even if you don't like the vibe, at least try it for the cool block selection. It honestly feels more like a Minecraft terrain mod than a Minetest one.
Works great, truly beautiful
I'd rank these geodes above Minecraft's any day of the week. And the nodes this brings are really nice. The geodes are so many sizes it's hard to believe as well, though that is more of a feature of the geodes_lib mod.
No gripes, it makes geodes, and it does so well. Not compatible with 5.3 if that bothers you.
I incorporated it into my mod, and it works perfect to generate geodes of many sizes from roughly Minecraft's geode size to much bigger or even smaller ones too. As a mod the textures are good, but maybe could be improved? They appear to be palette swaps or hue shifts of the same texture. But, as an API, the code is excellent. The developer replied quickly when I found a bug, and it wasn't even thier fault. If I had to ask for a new feature, it would be to have varied layer thickness like Minecraft. And something I'd like to try one day is to make my own budding nodes randomly appear in geodes.
Works with my stone mod
It just works. My only gripe is that the top half of the texture is used for the slab in all cases but when you make a full block out of slabs. It could look wierd on some blocks.
good mod if you are used to Minecraft gravity
just set to 1.2-1.4 for a more Minecrafty experience.
For those wondering what I think since then, I prefer Minetest default gravity because it is much more realistic than Minecraft's. But I still stand by what I said before. If you like Minecraft gravity, just use this to set it to 1.2-1.4x and it is great.
