oh that's great, gotta check that out, because I probably never tried "hovering" on touch screen over the barrel :D (Hopefully it is not again a non-Multicraft-feature)
About the pipeworks, i'm not sure many servers are using them, and having a larger out-put option (barrel --> hopper/pipe --> chest) anyway makes it more efficient I think
My review ended up being longer than ContentDB’s 2,000-character limit, so I’ll continue with the rest of my thoughts here:
Some more ideas:
decoration, something like a drink menu / price board would be amazing too included in the mod, especially for bars, restaurants. an aesthetic chalkboard style sign would fit really well. if that ever becomes feasible, it could also be interesting if NPCs within range of such a board could optionally display a bartender-style name/label or take on a “bartender” role when interacting with the area.
Since Luanti has a pretty wide player base (including younger players), it might make sense to add non-alcoholic versions of the drinks. Maybe a full set of non-alcoholic equivalents for all alcoholic beverages could reuse the same models and visuals but disable any intoxication effects. this would keep everything consistent for builders and roleplay servers. names for those could be: wine → grape nectar, beer → malt drink, cocktails → mocktails (fruit, essence drink, botanical drink, jungle juice, unicorn drink, sunshine drink, fruit punch and whatever creative creations come to mind!)
related to that, another idea (more on the “optional server feature” side) could be some kind of responsibility / age setting for brewing alcohol. like a simple toggle or check where players confirm something like “older than X” before being allowed to craft alcoholic drinks. or maybe a server setting that can disable alcohol crafting for certain users/groups. not sure how practical that is, but some parents surely appreciate those precautions
Last small thing: a nicer preview image here on ContentDB would probably help a lot. The mod has much more cozy-build potential than the current screenshot shows, and a nice bar or tavern scene would probably encourage more people to give it a try. 🌅🍹😜
Cheers, love the WineMod! I first came across this mod on a server where it was used a lot, and honestly it was really well appreciated by most players. People just loved decorating their kitchen bars, restaurants, estates, tiki bars and barbecue areas with all the different drinks the mod adds. It really helps make builds feel alive.
A few thoughts / improvement ideas from my side:
It would be super helpful to have some kind of recipe book or guide included with the mod (or at least make sure all barrel / brewing recipes are properly visible in the in-game crafting guide). Right now it can be a bit confusing for new players to figure everything out.
Another idea: barrels could maybe optionally work as storage containers too, like chests. That would make them more useful in builds and also fit the whole winery / tavern vibe a bit better. If there ever is a mod that adds spoilage or food decay, barrels could maybe help slow that down for stored items.
It would also be really cool if barrels or brewing setups could connect to hoppers or similar systems:
from above: ingredients
from the side: water
from below: output
That kind of automation would help make the mod much more user-friendly.
Hi! This mod looks really interesting, and I’d love to test it. Does anyone know of a server that’s currently running this mod?
