Except that reading this mod's source might be a way to learn that.
This might be a bit simple for a function-providing API, but it could be an educational experience.
I do recommend this mod to those looking for a storage solution that isn't too overpowered, but.....
This is only 1 block + 1 recipe + 1 texture. Tried to give the benefit of the doubt with the listing.
A black block looks like it stores more than 81, should be 43 046 721 or 31 381 059 609.
Another point: This concept has been not beaten to death, more like lightly injured from the beating. There are some other mods that provide this compression functionality. (1 of them has an api ;) )
It's a very convenient mod for making machines and sharing them elsewhere, I use Github for the main stuff and the related site for uploading the schematics, with inter-links in both directions.
I meant that it's not meant for public servers that expect a variety of players with different interests because not everyone likes horror, or an entity that can suddenly and abruptly end their mining journey.

1. I know. I intentionally mentioned player choice. The mod isn't released because I need a screenshot of the craft recipe and I can only do that when your mod finishes.
8 stone in a ring? No no, wooden chest surrounded by stone. I thought of that normally, no compromising with furnace.
They are uncraftable to make them interesting, but as I used to say: "Don't let balancing mess with logic".
They're just chests made of stone. Why are they uncraftable? This is not meant to be a suggestion, just a note. I could make a mod for recipes for anyone who wants recipes for them.
I still recommend this mod for anyone that wants it, you may not get the mod that makes them craftable if you want them to be prized; I just wanted to drop my opinion on those chests being uncraftable.
If I tried to put air in the grid like I was told, nothing happens. I can't even get the thing from the output slot.
why would anyone want to purposefully limit world height

Well, try another check if the player is idling and their health drops below 4.
That should cover everything.
Enough to find blue tiles being the ones to act as wires
But green tiles acting as wires seemed like an appropriate logical extension of their function.
Figured it out quite quickly, but was disappointed when you couldn't chain green tiles to make wires.
good for servers that need the player online for stuff
Good for other mods that might make breaking stone a bit more complicated
combinations

I read the source and saw that it included some decorative registration, but..... it's only a pitch-black node. Other mods should provide those.

for i, material in ipairs(materials): Am I a joke to you
That was actually my idea. (https://content.minetest.net/threads/6566/)
Rewrite init.lua to contain this code:
That makes the fuel transferrable from furnace to furnace without leaving trace fuel.
I do have a solution, but I need to make it a separate review to make it visible to the author.
The way this mod works..... oof
It feels like something you'd get from procedural tool tier generation, but it's not.
Pretty funny in that case, a :thumbs-up: for humor.

Won't work for public servers that expect a variety of players with different interests.
When you mine for just 1 thing and 1 thing only, this can be helpful.
