This is the ultimate Minecraft that actual Minecraft could have been. While one could argue that content updates in modern Minecraft operate more like a "mod soup" than meaningful extensions of the game, they are still features that many players don't want to go without. The downside with that is... well, there's no nice way to put this: modern versions of Minecraft run like garbage.
Minecraft used to be a simple little game that you could run on pretty much any 64bit iGPU without any issues. This played a huge role in the minisculity of Minecraft's barrier of entry, especially for such a high-potential game, allowing Minecraft to become equally popular in nearly all countries around the globe, regardless of how developed they are. Minecraft v1.12 is an especially strong ratio between performance and the richness of in-game content.
It is my honor to support and promote the much-needed work being done here, and I would be happy to contribute any way I can.
