Arcade3D
A Pacman inspired game for minetest
made for fun purpose, it is made in such a way that Minetest Game (MTG) mods can also be used in this
How to play
1)when player enter's in new world player will get maze spawner in the main inventory, that will spawn a maze when placed. The maze spawner also spawn dots and power pelet with maze.
2) player will also get 4 ghost player have to spawn them too by themselves.
The ghosts are as following-- Blinky(red) Pinky(pink) Inky(cyan) Clyde(orange)
3)Eat all dots. Those give player health point. The power pellet is used as a weapon as it is used for killing Ghost.power pellet is also crafted ,the crafted one can be eaten to increase health. By breaking dots player can get them and eat them
4) To win player must eat all dots, after this all the floor blocks will animate pink and blue, also a message will show that "you won". This will indicate that player won
special-note
Player must play in survival for perfect gameplay, this game is more than a game it is a game of creativity Player can also create there own maze or can modify the pacman maze given in main inventory, this game can be perfectly modifyed in creative mode only yet (It is all about creativity )
Way too unfinished
There are several aspects that let players understand how this game is either unfinished or at least not polished. First of all, the very first GUI is editable. Then, players are supposed to build the level themselves by placing entities in the maze; and, speaking about the maze, there are grass blocks inside which are also breakable by default (ruining the experience). Last but not least, my character wasn't picking up yellow dots when touching them, forcing me to hit each one of them. Too bad
Game requires heavy manual intervention
Pac-Man itself is a good basis however Arcade3D fails to be fun, intuitive or automate the right parts. It's derivative to the point of probably being copyright infringing (I am not a lawyer; this is not legal advice), but it's not worth the rightsholders of Pac-Man suing over. It's also not the first Pac-Man game for Minetest.
However, with a bit of a clean-up, the game could be good. Work has clearly been put into the visual art, I chuckled at the player model in a good way and the use of spheres for pills seems sensible, including not having too many polygons.
The idea of making your own arena is defeated when you realise the game has no way to spawn ghosts and pills for you. A good level editing experience is possible within the Minetest engine, so I exhort the developer to make better tools, which would be marking spots for the ghosts and pills to spawn, being able to start/stop a game intuitively, and of course not leaving the player inside the arena wall when placed.
Pacmine, part of myArcade, has the game starting feature down pat: right-click a starter node. The pink gates in Arcade3D make no sense, something myArcade handles better by having you right-click a node to start a game. However, Pacmine also suffers the issue of poor pill collision detection with server lag, so having the pills as nodes is better for that. Some comparisons to Pacmine wouldn't be helpful; Arcade3D being its own game is fine.
Conclusion: The promise of being able to make your own arenas is enticing, but as-is the game fails to deliver a good Pac-Man clone or level editing experience.

A lazy implementation
The idea is simple, yet the implementation is but lazy.
You are required manually place down the maze and your own enemies. Why not generate it for the player at the start already?
The gameplay is dull as well, there's nothing stopping you from collecting the dots, the ghosts AI are just the simple ones, that can't even move around a corner, the challenge only comes when you do have the need to pass by them.
Nice graphics, but clunky gameplay and painful setup

from judge review, 2.5/10
Obviously incomplete
PLEASE NOTE: This review is written for the 2021 Minetest Game Jam version of this game, by a PARTICIPANT. I used Minetest version 5.4.1 to playtest.
It's a Pacman clone. Unfortunately, the game jam version is in a very incomplete state, it's like in an alpha state right now. The level does not generate automatically and even then the victory condition does not exist. Did the author run out of time?
My threshold for a thumbs up for the Game Jam is at least a minimal amount of playability, but this is not the case here. Sorry. :-(
85/450: Arcade3D
GAME DESCRIPTION: Arcade3D is a game remniscent (and a near-clone) of games like Pac-Man in arcades in the 1980s and onwards.

FINAL THOUGHTS: Pac-Man was a hit in Japan and America when it was released. I loved the game, and I was hoping I could give it a chance. Unfortunately, there are too many other glaring issues for me to enjoy this game. For example, you really take the fun out of it when the player must do everything themselves, from placing the map and breaking the pellets to placing the ghosts. Is this salvagable? No, but I recommend you redo it properly. Use entities for pellets, ghosts, place maps automatically, handle the game properly instead of piecing this together. I hope to see another version of this I can enjoy in the future!
NOTE: Recommended/not recommended is based on if the score is an 84% or higher.
Map should generate automatically
Unless that it's working, but having to place stuff make the game look unfinished.
Too Unfinished
This game is too unfinished. The lack of a goal or challenge means its not very fun. The ghosts don’t behave interestingly, and dots can be eaten from far away. The game is too slow also.
It's the second best pacman clone I've played in minetest.
There's no originality in making a clone, but this clone is made rather poorly. Not sure what else to say.
