Check debug.txt for details.
If you aren't interested in the game or fixing the issue anymore that's fine, but if you ever return you'll probably still have the same issues unless you help me figure out what's going wrong
Have you ever wanted a way to show off a bunch of your cool items without having to take up a whole wall with itemframes/pedestals? You need look no further
This is such a chore, when you jump and mirror, your jumping direction is suddenly wrong, during the jump.
Imagine the blocks on the other side of the mirror are on your side of the mirror. The direction change when you mirror is based off of that. When playing I never had to change my jumping direction except for when I guessed the positions wrong.
I noticed that when you used up all the samples, you must start COMPLETELY over. No way, this is just mean, there's no good reason for that
I think they ran out of time
I would have expected more for something that had 3 weeks time
I could say the same for your game, do you have a good idea of how much time they were able to put into this?
A sandbox is a kind of game, I think 'genre' is the word?. Unless you meant a literal sandbox, which this game is not.
I think this kind of game is perfectly fine as a jam submission.
And even as a sandbox, I think it's boring since you literally have only 4 actions.
What are these 4 actions? I can build a fully automatic firework launcher, and I've only scratched the surface of the block mechanics
Experimenting with new concept is always great, so obviously some experiments end up in failure. Don't feel bad for this project, the thing is that you did something.
This comes across as quite rude. You seem to assume nobody else likes this project and that it's a failure because of that?
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but for 3 weeks of time I expect at least have a basic gameplay.
At least playable 1 level/race/time-trial, or anything
Basic gameplay already exists, and I'd argue it's more than basic. You have one playable level, you can race other opponents, and you also have "anything" as requested.
A time trial is a pretty trivial missing feature IMO, all you need is a finish line check, a HUD, and maybe a highscore board if you want to get fancy.
I consider a racing game to be a game where you aim to pilot your vehicle faster than your opponents. Maybe our definitions are different?
How many levels did you play? I felt like there were enough (considering the jam time constrains). I was actually surprised by the parkour levels, I hadn't considered you could use vials for that when I was first introduced to the mechanic. When I replayed the game my level solutions were completely different.
I can confirm there being sounds.
What do you mean about the game not having too many puzzle concepts? I can read that as a good thing and a bad thing. I will assume a bad thing judging by your general review mood.
Do you think the game could have had more puzzle elements? Or were you led to expect more puzzle elements than you got?
To say it again I don't mean it personally, I cringe every time I see what my rating system made me do, good luck with your efforts, I think they can pan out :P
I have yet to beat this, even when I abandon oxygen and HVAC I can't get enough moeny before things start going downhill. A little balancing is probably needed.
The models are very detailed, did you do them yourself?
Great work! I didn't test multiplayer but that would be an interesting direction to take this in
In it's current state the game is basically an idle clicker with 3 unchanging buttons. I've seen the mobile game ads though, and am very interested in seeing where this goes. I will definitely update my review as progress is made
Nice job! You made great use of available time, this game doesn't feel shallow like some jam games do
For polish:
* It'd be nice if the nodes had place/walk sounds, and the water/lava had liquid properties (For more 'MTG-like' scenes) with ambient sounds.
* Make the music go as a background behind sounds added above, and add a track or two more
Things you might want to fix:
I had a hard time telling blocks apart visually, having to look at the HUD for what a node was broke the immersion.
I had no clue what to do at first, but I slowly figured it out with a little effort :P
I'd love for there to be sound, and maybe a tutorial/hints too.
I'm not sure what you could do with more levels, might need to add another game mechanic
This is an amazing use of the formspec API, and looks quite good, but may be a little ahead of its time, it doesn't fit very well with the rest of the quick and simple formspecs in Minetest Game & mods
Despite that this'll probably be my goto inventory mod, it's the best I've found so far and you can get used to things not fitting right in the mod soup that is my survival world
It's in need of polish in a few places but considering some of the features and the consistent art style I can deal with it, although I don't think I'll have to for very long, the author is quite active
All my survival world houses have a counter dedicated to waffle making. I have waffles for breakfast, second breakfast, elevensies, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, and supper, never gets old
Took me a while to learn how to use it without destroying everything (No way to undo changes, so you're stuck with what you do), but I figured it out at the cost of a few houses/spawnpoints and now use this for all of my creative building projects. Definitely worth the sacrifice
Unique non-sandbox, no-player-character game, or at least it will be
I look forward to seeing where this goes, and will update my review when it's playable
Operates smoothly and doesn't get in my way. I wish I knew this existed sooner.
It would be nice if you could at least select and copy links/code
If you aren't interested in the game or fixing the issue anymore that's fine, but if you ever return you'll probably still have the same issues unless you help me figure out what's going wrong
Yes. Please give me more info, like what command you're trying to run, and what happens when you try to run it.
I will leave that to whoever wants to do their own grenade mod. The intent of this one is to have a few basic grenades
Have you ever wanted a way to show off a bunch of your cool items without having to take up a whole wall with itemframes/pedestals? You need look no further
Sounds like all of the code is there then, enjoy ;)
You could check the mod code to make sure it isn't there (It's air you see)

You can set
immortal = true
(Or maybe it'simmortal = 1
?) in the player damage groups to disable damage for realHow many levels did you play? I felt like there were enough (considering the jam time constrains). @Just_Visiting Alter sets your time_speed setting to 0, you'll want to undo that before you can play other games normally.
The default is 72 IIRC
/set time_speed 72
while in game, or change the setting in the settings menuI didn't realize my Minetest client could stretch (:
The jam version has a few drawbacks, but if you ignore/work around them the game is quite fun.
I'll be following this post-jam, I like where it's going.
To say it again I don't mean it personally, I cringe every time I see what my rating system made me do, good luck with your efforts, I think they can pan out :P

I have my chat set to print game warnings. It is being flooded by these warnings:
With more content I can see this being a lot of fun, especially with friends! (Assuming we can take turns getting each other to hit the next block)
RIP, I cheated and flew up/around. Never saw it

I got the chat message but no dragon in sight
Nice work!

This was great! I can't wait for more levels
I made the first altar, and it 'solidified' into different blocks, but nothing is happening, just an occasional hum
I created a few issues on your issue tracker.
With all that said: Nice job, this game has promise, I will be following it to see how it goes.
Suggestions:
Try downloading the game now, Minetest 5.4.1+ recommended
When do these 'lag spikes' happen? Placing the map takes a while.
CTF v3 is coming out soon, that should be much faster
Wasn't expecting to see a Minetest game like this. It's fun and plays well, no bugs or lag.
Makes my constant and unending search for ice dragons less boring and cold.

The entity is attached to the player, the player just has physics modifier changes. If you knew that I misunderstood you though
I don't think this is entity based, unless I misread the code
