Let's start with the good, as Drift Game has a lot going for it. The lo-fi aesthetic is pretty, the concept is unique, and I enjoyed being able to drive around on procedural roads. This feels like it could be expanded into a really cool open-world driving sim making full use of Minetest's mapgen. Heck, if I weren't too busy I'd fork this and make it myself!
So, as a tech demo for the 'driftcar' mod I think it succeeds. I played it, the car was neat, I wanted to do something with it. However, ContentDB is a place for users to find content to play and I write reviews with them in mind. On that front, I think this game fares poorly.
Let's start with the car. Put simply, the 'drifcar' handles like it's driving on ice, even when it inevitably slips off the road. If you run into a tree (you will run into many), your screen will turn completely black as you try to navigate out of the mess you've gotten yourself into. Also, I tried reloading my world and had to chase my car as it drove off without me...
The next mark against this game is a lack of variety. The world is a sheer flat plain of grass and pavement (the car has no slope-handling functionality, I presume), dotted with pine trees. The trees are a nice touch but they're not enough. You could imagine that with snowy fields, deserts, oceanside routes, etc. the game would be more interesting to play. Really, just dropping this game into the average MTG mapgenv7 map would likely be enough to last a while. Unfortunately, that's not what we have today.
I should also mention perf. It's hard to say if this was the game's fault or the engine's, but at high speeds you can feel some lag spikes and stuttering that hurt the game's playability. It's not a persistent issue, but it's there.
So in the end, I walk away with both excitement at the possibility, but disappointment at the reality. This is worth poking if you're a dev looking for a project, but if you're a player I see no reason to touch this one.
Interesting.. i like how the costs of these potions are balanced, makes people set teleportations to places, accordingly to how often they visit them..
A year or so ago I might use this because it was the only inventory mod with certain features, but now I'm seeing much faster and better looking alternatives popping up
This is a little but glitchy - items tend to fly away. But it's still good to have, especially in survival - I think it makes more sense than teleporting items, and adds some danger. It can also be used in combination with pipework's vacuum tubes to collect items
I'm more than disappointed to see an old mod is still far from mature. The mod is overly unbalanced.
Plotting the biomes into a Voronoi graph, I found that far to many biomes are stuck in the lower-left corner, while a few biomes like sakura stays all the way up, covering lots of area.
The naming scheme is rather scheme, which means that only savanna is the only biome recognizable, and every time I start up a world I start in a savanna.
Wild onions grow far too fast compared with other crops.
this mod used to be great, the standard for mob frameworks a while back, however it has come to a point where it provides unnesscary overhead and lag while heavily limiting mod creators control over the mobs that they create. frankly the minetest lua api makes it easy enough to create a mob on bare metal with no overhead, or you can use mobkit, which still lets you retain nearly completely and low overhead as well as provides you with some sample behavior functions you can use
There's no indication on the page that this game is a work in progress, but it seems to be incomplete to such a degree that there's no real point for folks to play it.
I got through a bunch of crafting recipes and couldn't really find anything interesting to do in the game aside from putting items in various shapes on the crafting grid. To make sure I wasn't missing anything I checked the code, and indeed--there are:
Several types of nodes, all of which are completely static and have no functionality
No tools (there is technically a fishing rod, but you fish by uh... putting it in the crafting grid with a solid block of water)
A number of items that either do nothing, or restore the health that you'll never lose because there's nothing to lose it from besides deliberately hurling yourself off of a cliff. You can't even drown!
No biomes or structures, only the bare minimum of mapgen aliases
A bunch of crafting recipes
That's all there is. It's a collection of convoluted crafting recipes that goes nowhere. It's not even good for building, since most blocks require multiple stages of crafting and a fair amount of resources to produce.
The game might be good someday. It might be a game someday! But today, I don't see any reason to interact with it.
(Note: This review is identical to my text to Rhotator because both mods are very similar.)
Initially I was very excited to see this mod and the new concept seemed so obviously better. For normal full cubes, this is clearly superior. Yes, the MTG screwdriver indeed has bad usability, so an improvement is so much needed.
But then I noticed a huge problem: Rotating becomes hard and inconvenient again if you have to deal with complex selection boxes. Because with complex selection boxes (like a toilet), you have to hit not only correct side, but also a side which faces the right way. Since this will change drastically after every click, you can no longer spam-click a node to quickly get to the correct rotation, but you must always move the mouse and concentrate to hit the right "side" of the selection box. Faces that face the wrong way willl be frequently exposed so it is easy to hit them and screw up. That's a problem because it means you still need to think when rotating.
And the push method might sometimes be useless if the selection box face is very small (like only on the right side, meaning you can't push to the left) and you must walk to a different side.
This issue could be mostly circumvented by games by simplifying their selection boxes but sometimes that's not what you want …
For many games, this will still be a massive improvement, but they can't have complex selection boxses.
Overall, this mod is still a thumbs up, because it is an improvement over the MTG screwdriver. I appreciate all new concepts of rotation.

This pack has everything you need for a technology based Minetest game. Electricity, automated mining and smelting, item transport, programmable robots and more. You will not need Technic, mesecons, pipeworks or anything else alongside this modpack. It provides everything you need via alternative methods.
The pack includes a full guide called the "TA Construction Board" which walks you through all of the mechanics. Machines have labeled faces for input and output which respect the rotation of the node. Item tubes are opaque and optimized. Generation and distribution of electricity are very well done as well as fluid pipes and other mechanics. The complex multi-block machines are fun to build and the instructions are easy to follow.
Techage is essentially a complete automation game created with Minetest that gives other games in the genre a run for their money; especially considering everything is free, open source and highly optimized.
this mod used to be great, but with the addition of categorys it makes the UI look even more terrible, not to mention it could have just used search filters based on minetest group system. This mod now uses formspec v4 which requires the server and the client to run 5.4.x or greater, not even keeping compat for latest+one version behind. this would be understandable perhaps if it used new features like model[] which i3 does, but alas it does not
It gives different colors to armors that some people might like, such as purple, red, and green. I love how the gemstones look and the boosts you get are nice effects also!

Amazing!
I recommend this mod for every creative server!
Interesting way to teleport
Interesting.. i like how the costs of these potions are balanced, makes people set teleportations to places, accordingly to how often they visit them..
Smooth!
A good & smooth texture pack, i recommend it for people who get low FPS, i prefer using default one because im very used to it tho :þ
Armor!
best armor mod i've ever tried, not complicated, doesn't bring lag.. didn't check it's code tho
Impressive Biomes!
really cool biomes, after using it, i found out mining without it is pretty boring..
Nice for pixel art
Great mod, i like the selection of colors, people who like making pixel art will like using this mod!
Cool!
dropped items, but better, so why not using it?
Great mod
This is the best wielded light mod I've found from all the ones I've tried.
Very fun mod
This is a must-have for all my worlds. It's great for traversing the massive and beautiful caves that caverealms generates
Made this a neutral review in favor of an updated version of this: https://content.minetest.net/packages/mt-mods/hangglider/
SPACE!
a very good space mode, would be nice to have a mod with some space mobs.
Bulky, slow, and a little dated
A year or so ago I might use this because it was the only inventory mod with certain features, but now I'm seeing much faster and better looking alternatives popping up
Nice..
A nice and simple way to make crafting steel more realistic, also a good way to make people suffer at making it :þ
Garbage mod
Which is pretty good, does what it says on the tin! This is useful both for decoration and for discarding unwanted items
Glitchy, but good
This is a little but glitchy - items tend to fly away. But it's still good to have, especially in survival - I think it makes more sense than teleporting items, and adds some danger. It can also be used in combination with pipework's vacuum tubes to collect items
Good companion to mesecons and other mods
I use it for communication with screens
Useful electronics
A nice selection of useful electronics
Super useful for automation
I like building water ways to move items. It's quite satisfying
Best Farming/Food mod
Adds too many crops and food types, i recommend this for every survival server, it even includes popcorn! :O
Too unbalanced
I'm more than disappointed to see an old mod is still far from mature. The mod is overly unbalanced.
sakura
stays all the way up, covering lots of area.savanna
is the only biome recognizable, and every time I start up a world I start in a savanna.WIP, but still very good
Mobs are very bad, sadly. But there is already a enormous amount of blocks from mc > 1.13, which are very intresting if you enjoy building
woooow!
one of the best mods ever!!! it works like a microchip, now you dont have to build large, ugly structures for mesecon systems anymore!! :DDD
Daww
Aww, they're so cute :) especially with butter :P
outlived it is usefulness

good mod
nice mod, in the game i renamed it too "meseglass" now there is meseglass, obsidian glass and normal glass. i like the mod :D good work!
INSANELY useful for formspec creation
This game is INCREDIBLE. Its the most efficient way to create formspecs.

helpful for absolute minetest user
This (sub-)game helps new user a lot and you can find secrets on the tutorial world!!!
Best protection mode
I really like this cool protection mod! Especially for survival servers as having free protection lowers the difficulty in my opinion..
nice
i use this for private things, and the super duck for transport,militairy,....
Used to be good

Works great, simple mod too.
I love this mod. I really missed /rtp from modded Minecraft.
this mod is very useful without a doubt :)
This mod is without a doubt one of the missing ones for minetest, who likes to look for random places to build, will like it a lot...thanks...
Very nice Mod :)
I really love this mod (especially the Deppsalte Tiles), the textures are nice, and i already built very much with this mod :D
Only working computer mod
This is the only working computer mod. It features a lot of apps, such as calculator, tnt and external storage. I appreciate your work!
Suggestions you might consider: (Not all of them are possible, just suggestions.)
very cool!
nice mod, i often scared when i went in a dungeon in vanilla minetest, but now,it has a reason! XD
It's a nice addition to ores.
It gives different colors to armors that some people might like, such as purple, red, and green. I love how the gemstones look and the boosts you get are nice effects also!
