Imagine showering a bride with rice, shooting confetti over a party, or even throwing hundreds of pies at a griefers face! All of that is feasibly possible with this mod, and in a clear-cut, easy-to-understand way.
This mod only improves when used in conjunction with mesecons: now you can detect for certain players before activating the particlespawner or make it only spawn particles when certain in-world objectives are achieved!
This is really a fantastic mod since Wuzzy took over on the development. At first look, it can come across as a oddly small collection of random decor blocks, but, as I have seen on servers, this actually takes care of most decor needs, and adds some awesome functionalities along with it. Less is more, I guess? The textures are consistent and fit minetest well, and everything actually works without random crashes (unlike the old version). Chess finally works, most importantly, and it looks and feels like an actual implementation. Wow!! Other than the fact that my opponent takes too long! Totally not hinting you to add timers... :-)
The more detailed decor mods, like Homedecor or Multidecor are too bloaty and the items will kill your FPS unless you've got a supercomputer and the latest NVIDIA graphics card (maybe slightly overexaggerated). This mod is lightweight and won't be hard on compromised clients. Recommended, especially for multiplayer situations!
The commonly used farming "solution" - but is it really a solution?
The diverse selection of crops in this mod, combined with a plethora of food items, keeps you entertained for quite a while. Not all of the crops are so easy to find, so some of them double as collector's items :-)
The texture style isn't top-notch or anything, but those textures have improved a lot in the past few years. There's a bigger problem though, which is simply that this mod doesn't have enough uses for it's items. Many of the crops only have a single usage, or some even have absolutely no usages, at the time of writing. For many users of the mod, there is absolutely no mechanic to encourage them to farm new crops, or to get new food items, because all these items work for the same purpose of effectively filling the food bar in different ways. So this mod can often play as more of a decoration mod than anything else in many servers, because there just aren't enough built-in usages for crops. I'd love to see this situation improve, but it's hard to know where to start. (more about that in the comments)
I do recommend this though, because this is the most commonly used mod for farming, and for a reason - it's interesting enough to keep people expanding their farms for a while. X Farming is the other option I would recommend, and it's gaining popularity and useability, but both are a bit bloaty and a lot of items just don't have a lot of good uses. Pick your poison.
Yes! I have interacted with one of these on the Your Land server and have to say that an actual shop keeper NPC that can produce items for it's own inventory if it has materials available and causes less lag on the server than other shop interfaces is a brilliant addition .
hi i tryed looking at your channel and it was gone also some ideas came to my head one was like a setting where they could get stronger or spawn more like ever minetest day another idea what if there was like a zombie that could break weak blocks like cobblestone and wood and dirt with a addtion of stronger blocks that they couldnt break threw like reinforced cobble or somtin also you could add like a blood moon that when it happens tons of zombies tons i mean tons of zombies wil come rushing like a missle trying to get it your base another idea maybe make it compatible with mineclone 2 that would be cool maybe add a chainsaw weapon and a chainsaw zombie or somtin just some idea all up to you tho because your the creator of the mod

i'm new to minetest and some of the things i say may be not fair cus of it. and I only played on single player.
these are from someone who played minecraft 1.12.2 for many years.
you guys need a discord place for players to vote about features they want and the features they don't. i couldn't find any discord place.
for start, it's really annoying for torches to have smokes (in my experience), you can not see anything in small caves and even in your own house cus of smoke. make a place for voting for it's removal or enhancement (add a crafting recepi for torches that makes it smokeless and more durable, MAYBE)
liquids are behave wierdly and you can not see through when you are under water in caves, they moving around, up and down and they are not like a solid blocks, (i really like the solidness of water in minecraft)
the game is pitch black when there is no light source and lighting system in general is broken and laggy (when you have miner's helmet the light goes off when you moving)
it's sad that you have so many mind blowing underground biomes in the game, but you are not able to see them clearly.
i prefer the game to be NOT realistic, it's a cubic game, instead of computation powers that's going to waste on making the game more realistic you can focus it on automation stuff
sorry i only mentioned the down points :). i really enjoing the variety of mobs and they system
btw i'am new in the community and i think most of the points i made wasn't this mod's faults, minetest engine need's a big rework.
but ovelall it's a good mod/game, keep it up <3
While I do enjoy the weather and the diversity of the weather. The setting don't have any effect what so ever. Disabling puddles does not prevent puddles from forming. Fire is not extinguished by rain and toggling the settings for fire do not change this. Were it not I for the fact that this mod basically dooms you to a constant forest fire due to lightning or puddles cluttering your world I'd reccommend it. The sounds, though sometimes buggy, really do make the weather feel more intense, and I like that.
Coming from the world of that other voxel game I was so relieved to see a WorldEdit for Minetest too. It offers the tools I need to get things set up and working for my world in record time. Thank you so much!
Before, I was posting a bounty and asking players to mine out and turn in any unknown blocks they come across for a reward. A process that was both time consuming and irritating. Now, my admins and I can simply got to the location and issue a command to make the ugliness go away. We still offer a reward for people who discover deposits of them and let us know though. But this way is so much nicer. Thank you! :)
Many different items from one mod clearly help to avoid doubled crafting recepies that make items uncraftable. But this mod ads so many items and random blocks that crafting can get a complicated and multi-layered mess. You could make a lot of crafting recipes with a few less items.
One note though, I had to do some digging to unearth this but it seems as of 2024-02-17 there is still a bug in the Minetest core that does not allow stereo sounds to be played at their proper position. I had to convert the ogg files from the 2 channel stereo to mono to fix this issue but after that it works great!
Skyblock is a challange I love a lot, but usually one of the big appeals of iti s the puzzle solving aspect of figuring out how to get an otherwise inaccessible resource through all sorts of cursed loot tables and reverse engineering.
Skyblock maps are essentially a puzzlebox begging to be solved. This map lacks the mob spawns to loot which I do think is a bummer, but instead allows me to craft literally anything in the game available normally which I think is very cool.
I will say though, it becomes very taxing as you progress into metals trying to remember all the base steps needed to do what you need to do to craft different materials when you're climbing up - as you still haven't entirely become independant of trees yet. But if I wasn't signing up for tedium I wouldn't be playing skyblock.
This game is Skyblock boiled down to its purest form, absolute brutalism. Having nothing but a block and a tree is great. Love that aspect and think you did just right there.
It is so boring walking at normal speed to a place 50+ blocks away (even worse when travelling). So this sprint mod adds a very useful feature, and it's integration with HUD Bars makes it sit nicely. I like how the stamina regenerates, and how sprinting affects satiation (hunger).
I don't see any reason to not use this mod, unless you're using a different sprint mod - but this one is my favourite, and (for me) the only one that works reliably.
Extra Biomes adds so much variety to the game, and sometimes I can't even tell that it isn't a default biome because the textures fit into MTG very well. And all the biomes are useful - what I mean is they aren't a waste of space, always having some extra fruits or wood in them.
It is definitely in my 'Recommended Mods' list, the one I give to my friends when they start playing Minetest.
The one thing I'd like is if doors for each new wood type would be added, it looks weird with a nice wood coloured house and then having to use the default door.
Very well animated, but buggy. Not recommended for survival maps
This mod is beautiful and adds a lot of life to my MTG survival server, but there are a few issues that pretty much break it for me, and the mod author does not appear to be interested in fixing them as they've been around for some time now.
Secondly, and much more egregious: animals despawn too often. They should be significantly far away from any player, say at least around a hundred nodes, before despawning. A horse that a user wanted to tame despawned within 50 nodes away from me, and while tied by a lasso to a fencepost. A song bird flew towards me and despawned in front of me. This was reported a bit ago, back in November.
At the moment I cannot recommend this mod for survival worlds. Raising livestock is impractical and impossible because they despawn before you can raise them, and horses have no use whatsoever because they cannot be tamed. It's still nice to have as it brings life to the world, but that's about the only benefit this mod brings to the table in its current state.
This needs few more things, because there are no NPCs, no monsters, dungeons are small and sword is useless. That "Minetest Core" needs few more things, like jukeboxes, villages, dimensions, or bigger dungeons, XP system, hunger, thirst, better textures, realistic crafting, damage when you punch wood with hands, mineshafts, and structures.
some of the things this mod provides are invaluable on survival multiplayer servers, where the admins want to restrict what players can do in certain areas. the special nodes - particularly fullclip and nointeract - are incredibly useful, and the admin pickaxes are indispensible.
Love the ease of setup and its nice structure. However, it would be great if Discord members could also send messages back to the minetest client chat. Adding this feature would make it an amazing mod! Keep up the great work.
Personally I believe that the textures for the minetest blocks are not the best. For a long time I've actually wanted something like this but it's never existed untill now. Take the TA2 flywheal for example, looks too realistic, however with the texture pack it just gives it that nice pixilated crispness of minetest.
It would be cool to place microblocks too, and to restore errors. Ctrl+Z , selecting microblock size, maybe 1, 2³, 4³, 8³, and click and drag a selection box like recent mod Build Easy Box does with nodes.
Needing the hammer below the chisel in the inventory gets realistic in survival, In creative mode you could avoid that requirement.
This is super great and scales creativity up! Amazing job.

At the moment the mod only seems to see, list, find and teleport to variations on tundra and taiga. You could be standing in the middle of a savanna (default) or right next to it and it won't see it, same for the swamp (mod swamp). But it does list the location when found and teleports you there. One imagines the short list of biomes it works on is a minor to moderate issue to fix?
I get how modders would love it, but it should also be helpful for server maintainers. If you know you have a biome mod running but haven been flying for an hour trying to find an example.

Fork of sum_jetpack, with minor changes (thank you for the comment Neuromancer)
Here is the jetpack this mod was forked from. The Hero Jetpack is slightly different from the Sum Jetpack, because you have to hold the jump key to keep in the air, much like the wings in the Equippable Accessories mod. Other than that, it is basically the same at the moment, with the slight changes to fit the future H.E.R.O. gameplay. As a standalone mod, though, the small changes don't make it very much different (in my experience) from the Sum Jetpack, even with the extra challenge. When in a minigame intentionally made to make flying this hard, though, it is indeed very different and might be useful for game mechanics specific to it's challenge.
Now that I have read more, it seems that this mod might still be a WIP, so please leave a comment if this review is outdated! Best of luck to your project Neuromancer, apologies for my mistakes when I first made my review :)

This mod is beautiful and adds a lot of life to my MTG survival server, but there are a few issues that pretty much break it for me, and the mod author does not appear to be interested in fixing them as they've been around for some time now.
First, taming horses is bugged as of two weeks ago.
Secondly, and much more egregious: animals despawn too often. They should be significantly far away from any player, say at least around a hundred nodes, before despawning. So many materials for your building needs
I can at least say that there is so much to build with in creative. I don't need the recipes, so I can't say anything about that...
Brings life into the players
It's a little bit choppy but that could be the nature of the game itself. But it looks so much better now!
Cool little background mod
if you want to make your game feel more like minecraft this is a great mod
Amazing mod.. Just needs one improvement
Love the ease of setup and its nice structure. However, it would be great if Discord members could also send messages back to the minetest client chat. Adding this feature would make it an amazing mod! Keep up the great work.
Gives it more of a minetest feel.
Personally I believe that the textures for the minetest blocks are not the best. For a long time I've actually wanted something like this but it's never existed untill now. Take the TA2 flywheal for example, looks too realistic, however with the texture pack it just gives it that nice pixilated crispness of minetest.
Realtime nodeboxing
This is the way for achieving something like Minecraft Chisel and bits or Vintage Story chiseling.
A different concept approach is Wesh.
It would be cool to place microblocks too, and to restore errors. Ctrl+Z , selecting microblock size, maybe 1, 2³, 4³, 8³, and click and drag a selection box like recent mod Build Easy Box does with nodes.

Reminds me all the confusing seconds I spent right clicking on signs to just have nothing happen.

How to use it
for new people you have to use the bait as an arrow in the X bows slot in your inventory

just beautifull incredible i love this mod :')
too bad it is not compatible with island just..... but it is perfect
Very exciting, even although nobody's shooting at you
I tried this out of curiosity because nowadays it is so easy to try and add new games to Minetest. This game is really amazing. It will give you entertainment for several nights and sweaty hands. The difficulty starts low and keeps growing as you gain new capabilities. Many of the items and ways can be found by logical thinking, sometimes trying and guessing is required. And there are always a few extra challenges which are not exactly required to master, but .. well .. challenging :)
The key recognition can be sluggish now and then which can lead to frustrating moments, e.g., when the jump pad just won't fire when you cross it and press 'jump'. But all in all it works pretty well. Especially when you think about that this is a one-man show for a gaming competition.

Now it's possible to save the world
Unless you try it, because there will be deffinetly a limit on how big of an area we're talking about, you can save almost everything!
Must have for everyone
You need to build big objects in no time? You need to fill landmass? You need to repair your world? This is your go to whenever you have to build something!
Got everything that you need...
... and if not I would be very suprised due to the mods it can work with
Craftguide
There is no point of generating an online craftguide as you will have to split screen it ingame to view at the same time
Worldedit
It's so easy to use with the GUI!
