No, I did not click the "recommended" button by mistake, this tutorial is indeed fine.
But... Are we really asking newbies to download a tutorial? Where is the tutorial for that?
Makers, let's not forget that most players don't want to make their own game. They want a good game out-of-the-box and maybe just customize it or extend it after a while.
Imagine for yourself, someone tells you that "you have Notepad and you can turn it into a half-decent IDE by installing two dozens of plugins; you can be up to speed in a week or so. If you have issues with plugins fighting each other, seek help on the forum"... Chances are that you'll say "No thanks, I'll use VSCode".
"You have MTG and then you can make your own game by downloading mods, checkout out our huge ecosystem" obviously won't fly with most newcomers. It used to be Ok when users had to install mods and "subgames" manually, but not anymore (those people are modders now). To be fair, this is thanks to the efforts of the MT team and contributors. Don't let one old apple that turned bad spoil the barrel.
This tutorial should be shipped instead of MTG. Add to it a couple of lines to tell the players what to do from there at the end (how to get an actual game), then we are good and done.
While i've yet to explore everything this mod has. Seems to be well put together and creates a great athmoshpere and liveliness, even if some parts needs polish.
Biggest annoyance are birds and their towers of nests, and how they seem to stop at nothing to put their nests in one location.
Still a great addition to the game, and a mod i will likely continue playing with.
suggestions
jumpnade (ctf-like )
tornade (spins whoever it hits into a tornado which sends then spining and flying through the air in random direction )
blackholenade (ctf-like )
weight-nade attaches weight to a person so they cannot jump
scatternade variant of each of those (scatters multiple smaller nades when hit that have weaker effects like only jumping on slaps with weightnade or only pulling the player to center with blackholenade
tactical nade : lower damge but quickly able to throw and longer distances
nake ( like a nuke but gives everyone in range radiation poisoning + destroys blocks )
bomb-o-nade version of each of those that damages blocks like weightnade version might collabse structures without much support blackhole nade might pull in some blocks and scatter nades might replace blocks with weaker variants of them
what separates this mod from normal cave realms mod? i'm very confused since these mods have very much in common but are developed by two different people
nice althought minetest needs texture packs which are less mine**** inspired n
minetest already has many texture packs that attempt to make it look like minecraft althought the only thing that minetest has that is even remotely close to minecraft is maybe the mineclone 2 subgame minetest game has nice and clean textures which i would like to see improved by texture packs rather than having texture packs that just look like a copy of mine**** textures althought that being said this pack still looks nice :D
the mod crafting engridients should be a optional dependency and the mod should register other recipes if the mod extramaterials is used (optional dependency ) and maybe of none of those mods is used provide somthing like a circular saw to create the blocks
The reason I really love this mod is for when I am creating other mods that affect maximum hp. It is super easy to increase/decrease the maximum hp, because without this, the hp_max is always at the maximum level.
Nice start, looks promising, although time consuming
The beginning can be quite a grind - expect a few hours of resource gathering and eyeballing the recipe guide for a path forward.
Like pretty much all Skyblock games, your hand won't be held, so you have to follow the recipe guide and build a strategy on that. And oh, boy... it's not easy to begin with. But once you craft some resources, you can use quicker recipes to multiply them, which is welcome. In such cases, make sure you manage your inventory properly so you don't have to take the long path to getting more of some resource. :)
I found 2 issues, one of them actually breaking the progression at this time. I filed bug reports in the issue tracker for both. The bad one is being unable to craft bronze ingots, which is an intermediary step towards getting a bucket, so you can later get water and lava. So right now making a cobblestone generator doesn't seem possible, and it took me a few hours to get here. :P Ooof, and I was actually close.
Thanks for the game, I'll follow the updates and resume my progress once bronze will become available.
desighn choices are questionable, on one hand we have pixelated minecraft mobs like cats and rabbits and on the other we have ps1 style graphic cows and bees, the sounds are ok i guess, the mod is not breaking in any way the animals are doing what they suppose to do and what would you expect in animal mod, the mobs naturaly spawn and you can spawn them youreself so that's nice, if you don't mind the graphic i definetly recommend using this mod
I just keep walking down the road. Always more to see! Worked perfectly for me.
“It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.”
Mobs Redo is a fantastic mobs API. It was one of the first mods I started using for MeseCraft. Sure, the mobs created with this using the default parameters may be a bit simple, but there is enough extensibility within the API to give varying character to mobs if one is determined enough to do so.
The Mobs Redo API is very stable and mature as well. Yes, there are newer, more complex, and capable API's for Mobs, but they are not at the level of stability and maturity that Mobs Redo currently has. This with TenPlus1's history of quickly updating bugs and maintaining his repositories really well, makes this an excellent addition to many games and worlds. There are some bugs and quirks with the API that you will encounter, but there are enough options within the API to work around most of these.
The mobs perform well, it might not run on lowest end hardware, but overall, I've never noticed any significant slow downs resulting from this mod that wasn't my own fault for not understanding how to optimize spawns.
To summarize, this is a well-rounded and mature mobs API that is easy to use and learn. It is well maintained by TenPlus1. Recommended.
I use this on my server! This makes playing more exciting and challenging, and the items that come along when you killed a mob are pretty nice. Looking forward to the updates this mod will get.
it worked great until updating to Minetest 5.6, now the arrows don't show up
but it continues playing the bow launching animation but no arrows
appear.
It's an important discovery mechanic that doesn't impede on anything: It's simple and a quick message to tell the user what they're actually switching to in an unobtrusive way.
While originally feeling like perhaps it's too "technical nerd" looking, it really grew on me because of its simplicity and predictability. The bars are very easy to parse and the positions are always in the same place. This is especially useful for larger amounts of information that would otherwise have been strewn all over the interface in varying shapes and sizes.
This game has no place in ContentDB

Nice mod!
I was going to create mod like this, but it was too late! :) Amazing mod for modders and world creators, it is compatible with WorldEdit.
Please also add 'node/item ID' to the UI.
Overall great mod

Ideas
lava waterfall that should flow into the lava pool and not spread everywhere
lava waterfall, lava river, width and depth should not exceed 10 nodes
good but more content is needed

balanced hardcore
not for servers though
very helpful
Very helpful for creative and for server maintenance
nice
Very nice for make tunnel and brige for advtrain , but too for make street
always very useful
It gives you more and more protection as you progress through the game by building more resistant armor
it's good, i think
what separates this mod from normal cave realms mod? i'm very confused since these mods have very much in common but are developed by two different people
kind of useless
infinity wood can already be archived by farming however infinity SUS does currently not exist in minetest ;P

nice but

generic alternative to castle gates
for anyone wanting doors like the ones the castle gates mod provides but more generic this is a good alternative
nice simple texture pack but
could you add support for the backed clay & space_travel & techage mod ?
Easy to Mod

Made for dynamic shadows and decent without if one's into a pastel style
Also wide support and gorgeous ground decoration work.
simple and good mod
that's all
it's good

Great for miners
Makes mining ores and trees take less of your time
Church Modpack
Very good work. I hope there will be a few more :I
Spiradilus

Irresistable
I just keep walking down the road. Always more to see! Worked perfectly for me.

Adds to the gameplay that Ethereal provides
I use this on my server! This makes playing more exciting and challenging, and the items that come along when you killed a mob are pretty nice. Looking forward to the updates this mod will get.
Mobs Ethereal Bosses
Good work! I hope there will be more bosses :)
Worked great until After updating Minetest
it worked great until updating to Minetest 5.6, now the arrows don't show up but it continues playing the bow launching animation but no arrows appear.
Opensource Minecraft Alternitive
Playing this game feels like playing Minecraft pre-Microsoft. If it can survive legal battles, I'd expect it to be even better than Minecraft is.
Should be default behavior
It's an important discovery mechanic that doesn't impede on anything: It's simple and a quick message to tell the user what they're actually switching to in an unobtrusive way.
Much nicer
While originally feeling like perhaps it's too "technical nerd" looking, it really grew on me because of its simplicity and predictability. The bars are very easy to parse and the positions are always in the same place. This is especially useful for larger amounts of information that would otherwise have been strewn all over the interface in varying shapes and sizes.
Very useful mod
Very useful for making custom games
I like
It's feels a bit glitchy when flying though
Nice for getting around
I wish it had different colors available for the hang gliders
I like it
I wish it didn't stop development though
Simple and bug-free
It's a very unique and amusing way of taking care of large caverns. The crossbow is super fun to use as well.
It's a lot a fun
This is really well-made. Just riding around was fun and super smooth. Props to the dev for making something that feels really good!
Really solid
It's comprehensive, perhaps too much so, but it's really good at what it does.
Basic
Only useful for the most basic mobs.
nice mod
but the closing sound is much too loud
