    Great mod for more building and food proccessing options

    I love this mod for the extra blocks to build with. The only thing I'm disappointed in, is the barrel can not be filled with anything even though the options are in the node, but it does make for great decoration only.

    Nice mod

    Nice mod, but the temperatures don't make much sense, why is one block 40°C, the one next to it -2°C, then next one 12°C

    Could you make this mod compatible with mineclon2, mineclonia, etc? That would be awesome.

    Really easy to use and powerful

    Following the well written tutorial in the wiki I was able to prototype some ideas I had, in just 50 lines of code I created my minigame, registered all the custom items with their relative actions and then I created the arenas with the built in editor arena_lib provides.

    a good choose

    it has a good range of blocks that are really cool, but i think it would be cool if the dev add a type of block made of steel bars like the steel bars node

    heh

    I do recommend this mod to those looking for a storage solution that isn't too overpowered, but..... This is only 1 block + 1 recipe + 1 texture. Tried to give the benefit of the doubt with the listing.

    A black block looks like it stores more than 81, should be 43 046 721 or 31 381 059 609.

    Another point: This concept has been not beaten to death, more like lightly injured from the beating. There are some other mods that provide this compression functionality. (1 of them has an api ;) )

    Amazing animations!

    This mod makes the player look much more realistic and better. It's also amazing that it supports a variety of mods such as SkinsDB and 3D Armor. The only thing is that the fly animation triggers when it actually shouldn't, for example, when the player jump value is higher. But apart from that, it looks and works perfectly. Great work!

  • tiredbun 2024-01-12 13:54 UTC

    Fun, but flawed

    Biggest issues:

    • Bad contrast ratio when you disable dynamic shadows, especially for white pieces, it's just hard to see what piece I am looking at without constantly changing perspective to guess. Some kind of outline or 2d mode would be appreciated.
    • Showdown event just ends game in draw in a most of cases (because queens are out and two kings alone make engine guess it's a draw).

    In general, it's a fun expirience, not really balanced but it doesn't take away from it, IMHO.

    looks nice, but explosions are extremely too large

    ~~the default explosion radius of the cannon shell seems to be something close to 100? i'm lucky i tested it relatively far from other things on my test world. ~~

    EDIT: apparently it was user error - be very careful to not put too many cannonballs inside at once!

    Does what it's supposed to, but...

    On ContentDB, it's tagged with "Library/API," but it has no externally accessible functions. In my opinion, one of those things should change. Other than that, it works great. I actually submitted a PR that makes the find_biome function global (and nothing else).

    Really cool

    This mod is super useful, it avoids having to open your inventory all the time in construction, and in combat having an inventory full of weapons and being able to change them with just 1 keystroke is super practical. What's more, it looks like a new feature in ark ascended.

    Would be better if you could use any planks from the wood group

    This mod is so-so. It has it's usage, but if you use any mod that adds environment blocks, you may or may not be able to use this mad as it requires a specific plank that may or may not be in any nearby biomes.

    If you have the needed wood type then it's a good mod, but if you're in a biome or not near a biome that has that type of wood then it's pretty useless. You can oly use this is you find apple trees and not all biomes are near that type like a jungle or desert which is where most people will spawn on their first time and who knows how far you will have to go to find it without creative.

    Very Useful Mod

    I really love this mod, it adds so much cool stuff to the game.

    I like to use the digipistons since they allow me to make compact piston extenders.

    The documentation for all nodes is a bit bad, so here is my proposal for documentation about touchscreen:

    How to use the digistuff touchscreens:

    You can send a command as a table. The options you have are as follows:

    • {command="clear"}
    • {command="addlabel",X=1,Y=1,H=1,name="label_name",label="Label:"}
    • {command="addfield",X=1,Y=2,W=4,H=1,name="input",label="Enter something"}
    • {command="addbutton",X=1,Y=3,H=1,name="button_name",label="Click Me"}
    • {command="addbutton_exit",X=1,Y=4,W=3,H=1,name="exit",label="Exit"}

    You can also send multiple commands at the same time, just put all of them in a table:

    Once you got your button, you can listen for presses using the event.msg.<YOUR_BUTTON_NAME>. Here is an example:

    if event.channel == "TOUCH_CHANNEL" and event.msg.button_name then
    digiline_send("TOUCH_CHANNEL",{{command="clear"},{command="addlabel",X=1,Y=1,H=1,name="label_name",label="You had clicked the button!"}})
    fi
    if event.type == "program" then
    digiline_send("TOUCH_CHANNEL",{{command="clear"},{command="addlabel",X=1,Y=1,H=1,name="label_name",label="Click the button"},{command="addbutton",X=1,Y=2,H=1,name="button_name",label="Click Me"}})
    end

    How to use the digistuff advtouchscreens:

    You can send formspec code to it.

    digiline_send("advtouchscreen1"
          ,  "size[8,4;]label[1,1;Label:]"
          .."field[1,2;4,1;Enter something;${input}]"
          .."button[1,3;2,1;button_name;Click Me]button_exit[1,4;3,1;exit;Exit]"
          )

    Great starting point for Tropical Islands Adventure

    I loved the vibe of this Islands mod. I turned it into an exciting adventure by adding the following mods in this collection: https://content.minetest.net/collections/Neuromancer/tropical_islands/ But there still were a few gaps, so I created a mod to add coconut trees with edible coconuts, and it allows you to craft thatch blocks for building from the leaves. Also I created a pineapple mod for variety in food. https://content.minetest.net/packages/Neuromancer/coconut_tree/ https://content.minetest.net/packages/Neuromancer/pineapple/

    The magma conduits mod needs to use the following settings: Minimum volcano peak elevation = 20 Region mapblocks =8 Probability of active volcano in region = 0.7

    I'll continue to tweak and create mods to make this Tropical Island Paradise even better.

    Pretty generic (plot-wise) collecting game with few obvious goals.

    The end goal is obvious: make the forest light again. But the game doesn't say how to get there. I can tell this was well-executed and the effects and theme are great, but without clear motivation or objectives, this just gets boring.

    Now that I have finished the game, I'm changing my rating a little bit. The end was interesting, and though I managed to defeat the boss shadow without dying, it wasn't quite the unexpected I — expected. I was expecting something more unexpected, and thus that makes this end unexpected? Gotta give Wuzzy credit...

    But the end could still use a little work, since I didn't know how to get to the last part of the game until Wuzzy told me

    Scores rate how good different aspects of the game are.

    Effects is mostly how the game looks and is built. If a game doesn’t have good-looking textures, particle effects, or architecture that is actually plot-relevant, it can get a low Effects score.

    Gameplay involves how good, fun, interesting or effective the gameplay is. If a game doesn’t have well-designed puzzles that are something a gamer actually feels they can figure out with obvious end results, it can get a low Gameplay score.

    Plot, of course, is how good the plot is, how well it fits with the game itself, and whether it is interesting enough to keep players interested. If a game doesn’t have an obvious plot or goals, it can get a low Plot score.

    Theme is how the game feels and is laid out. If a game doesn’t feel right, have a theme that fits its plot or gameplay, or is too bland or empty-feeling, it can get a low Theme score.

    Unexpected Theme is only how a game fits the theme of the 2024 Game Jam.

    Strange. Very well-coded and impressive that someone could do this.

    Well, this is not a game. It's an operating system with several games on it. Yes that's really really cool. Yes that is super unexpected. Did I like it? Sadly not that much. But that doesn't make it bad.

    Chess with a twist.

    I always have loved chess, so this was rather fun. The random effects aren't exactly great (at the time of this review) though. Maybe more things more often would make it a little more interesting.

    Update to my review, as I found a rather hilarious (and most certainly unexpected) problem: The "swap pieces" random change put my knight in range of my opponent's king when it was my move. So — I took it. And nothing else happened exept the queen taking my knight. Now the bot is unbeatable unless I defeat all of its pieces. Maybe something can be added/changed to make sure things like that don't happen? Or should that be kept because it's a pretty cool twist?

    Interesting game with a basic plot and twist, but still fun.

    The Velvet Crystal is an rpg game where you become a wizard and have to go on a quest through backrooms to get the thingamabob that was stolen. So pretty basic and not extremely interesting, but still fun. The wand effects were cool to figure out how to use, and the parkour was unique to the wand's powers. The twist at the end wasn't unexpected for me however, because I was pretty suspicious about halfway through.

    Fun and clever, but also complicated and almost sad.

    Definitely the best of this year's Game Jam. Citadel is a complex puzzle game hidden in an almost rpg-type setting, with a fascinating but relatively simple plot and a dreamy but almost sad environment.

    Incompatible with mods reading the description field

    Although this mod is a great piece of gameplay documentation, it suffers compatibility issues with many mods due to its way of displaying the tooltips.

    This mod directly modifies the description and stores the original into _tt_original_description. However, not many mods are aware of the extra field and treat the manipulated field the same as they would do with pure descriptions. This leads to issues such as the weird display of item names in third-party mods.

    In welly-integrated games like MineClone2, using this mod would not be a problem. However, think twice and check your mod collection before installing this mod into your pool of mods.

    Interesting Game❓

    Interesting and FUN game👍

    I feel like this game doesn't have a specific goal other than going to the next backroom level. But what makes this game interesting to know is that this game really depicts a little impression of a real backroom. Infinite endless corridors without end✖️, There is no living entity or maybe there is❓, Search every hallway to find the exit🚪. Every time you successfully find the exit you will enter the next level➡️. I can say that this game could have many opportunities to change or add something to it so that it looks more like a real backroom🚪👍.
